The Alienware M14x is a pretty weirdly shaped computer. It's angled in such a way that the front lip and rear hinge jut out at hard angles, as opposed to most laptops which are more or less flat in the front and back. Because of the sharp edges, you need to make sure that it's padded properly when you put it in a bag--with all of the system's hefty weight concentrated on the hinge or lip, it would be very easy to damage. This sleeve was specifically designed to pad these "pressure" points, and it does a good job, for the most part.

First, the bad stuff. The zipper looks and feels really cheap. I'm not sure how long it's going to hold up, but it seems okay after a few weeks. Next, that plastic alien head looks really bad. Mine came with obvious flaws on the plastic and has sort of a cloudy look as a result. Somewhat disappointing that something which serves no functional purpose is also really ugly.

Now, the good stuff. There is a lot of padding on the inside for the sharply-angled regions of the laptop. There's also an inner lip that fits over the front of the laptop to prevent the zipper from damaging the glossy plastic. It's quite clear that this bag was designed specifically for the M14x, as it fits very snugly inside. The handles are very helpful for a laptop this heavy. There's a front pocket, but I'm not really sure what you could or would put in it.

Another reviewer rated this lower because the power adapter doesn't fit in the front pocket. I don't think that's a valid point. The M14x's power brick is huge and approaching the bulk of an XBOX 360 power adapter. This is a sleeve designed to protect the laptop when placed inside another bag, not to serve as a carry-all for the laptop and its accessories.

This is the worst fitting sleeve I have ever seen. It says designed specifically for the Alienware M14x. I do not see how this is possible. I felt like I was forcing my laptop into this tiny case. The corners were poking out and stretching the case. This looked like it was doing more harm then good.

Please see the pictures.

I returned this sleeve and bought the Incase 15" Neoprene Sleeve Case.
The Laptop FITS AMAZINGLY!

A disclaimer: I probably like this as much as I do because I actually read the description before I buy it. This fits my newer-model Alienware 14 perfectly (my only slight worry because this wasn't really clear in the description). It fits perfectly. Now, understand...this ain't your grannie's panties...and you wouldn't want to be dressing your little Alien hussy in them, anyway. Think "thong".

This case fits closely. There's a pocket on the outside that you can stuff your power brick and cord into but I haven't tried and don't intend to. It should be noted that the accessory pocket is on the front (where the Alien logo is), so if you're going to stuff your pc, brick, cables, and mouse in this thing you'll basically be walking around with a computer bag that looks like a bucket of ass.

I bought this specifically to act as a sleeve. My old laptop bag's built-in internal sleeve is too tight for my Alienware (14)...and now carries my tablet, mouse, cables, and other small accessories.

The material feels (and is) pretty lightweight but seems durable enough. It adds padding in important areas (corners and back side--whichever way you put the computer into the bag (front-first or back-first). The bag is very well made...good stitching, no loose threads...basically flawless. The zippers are good quality, they have attractive string pulls and even the little alien-head tabs are nice little attention to detail.

A fantastic deal for the price.

I have the new Alienware 14 laptop and it fits perfect in this sleeve. I am not sure what the size different is between the M14x and the new Alienware 14 model but this one has room to spare. I am extremely happy with this sleeve. If you have the Alienware 14 then I highly recommend this sleeve.

The Mobile Edge sleeve for the M14x is a great neoprene sleeve for the Alienware M14x (R1 and R2) if you're looking for an officially licensed/branded Alienware case. The M14x fits inside pretty well, although I would have liked to see an extra mm or two just so the zipper isn't pressing against the notebook.

There are two nylon handles to make it easier to carry the M14x inside the sleeve, but it would have been nice if the handles were slightly padded with some extra neoprene since the M14x is pretty heavy by modern notebook standards.

The sleeve has an extra zippered compartment on the front where you can store extras like papers, a wallet or other small/thin items. I wouldn't recommend putting the massive power adapter for the M14x inside the front compartment or anything larger than a small and thin travel mouse because the power adapter is just too big and the extra compartment doesn't provide much protection.

Bottom line, if you want a sleeve for the M14x that isn't expensive and looks like it matches the notebook then this is a very good option.
