I found this book to be a great reference for creating a mobile version of our company's existing website. This book is not a "mobile first" book which is why I purchased it. I needed some direction on how to take our existing content and make it available in a format that will look good on a mobile device. This book is primarly focused on style sheet changes that you can use to make this type of a conversion. Our main website is not totally standards compliant yet I was still able to apply a lot of the concepts in this book to make the necessary modifications so that we can have an alternate version of our site designed for mobile devices without having to make any changes to the actual content and how it is created. Using the suggestions from this book and eliminating content that did not make sense for a mobile platform, I was able to create a website that allows our company to offer much of our content in a mobile format. We are a website related to the sport of swimming and the site is almost like a news paper site in the sense that we have new text and video content on a daily basis. My only negative comment is that the book was almost 100% geared toward the Apple iPhone environment and I would have liked to have seen some examples that showed results in on an Android device since that is a major part of our target audience. Overall, as a professional software developer, I found this book to be an easy read and a great reference for how to take existing websites and make them more mobile friendly.

Format: Paperback
I found this book to be a great introduction to what is necessary to make a site readable on a mobile device. I learned some easy CSS tips that can be used with an existing site. The book also covers creating new websites that are mobile accessible, and I liked that it covered jQuery mobile as well. Has color screen shots, too. Great book.
