First trip no problems.
I installed this several weeks ago. use once for long box from warehouse store purchas, and it worked perfectly. After that took a 600 trip with fairly light load. again no issues.
Left the bag out in the rain for 24 hours after trip, and everything was completely dry inside. Water poured off exterior.
I did replace the nuts and bolts that connect the sections together before using it though. I was underwhelmed with the ones that came with it. It would be better if higher quality nuts and bolts were included.
I ordered "Cicidorai M6-1.0 x 35mm Button Head Socket Cap Bolts", " Sutemribor Black Zinc Plated Alloy Flat Washer", and "binifiMux 30Pcs M6-1.0mm Black Zinc Plated Nylon Lock Nuts" from amazon, for a more secure joining. They also look much better than the cheaper stock ones.
The bungee net is a good weight, and the hooks are strong.
I used my own ratchet straps, but the included ones looked perfectly adequate.
On first impression the basket seemed a bit lightweight but is holding up well. I did coat the fitted ends with black silicone before joining. My logic was the help seal the joints from moisture that might get inside the tubes. Also, to reduce any vibration that might occur.
I Also used some Foam Tape Weather Stripping on the U-bolt clamps that attach the basket to my car's crossbars to prevent slipping and wear to the crossbar. Again a small detail that could have been included.
I gave it four stars because this is not a heavy duty basket, but the heavy duty ones are twice the price.
