Colin Maclean had agreed to help at his friend’s homeless shelter while his leg healed. He’d been badly injured while photographing the war in Afghanistan. At least he could avoid his family in Scotland hovering over him by having a reason to stay in London. When he meets Tiffany, he’s so drawn to her it scares him. He’s never let a woman near him since Gina died. He knows he’s not fit for a serious relationship, because he’s failed at every important thing he’s tried. At least he’s good with his camera. His disabled twin tells him he’s running away by going to the Middle East, but he knows it’s what he must do.
This was a wonderful book. The main characters had their flaws, but they were so lovable. I was pulled into the story and lived their lives with them, as all really good novels do. I don’t think I’ve ever read this author before, and I was surprised by what a good writer she is. I’ll be looking for more of her books.
I enjoy characters that I can root for; people who are not afraid to confront their failings, uphold their standards and deepen their faith. These are characters like that. There is plenty of fun, a few tears and, of course, THE KiSS!
I'm looking forward to reading about other characters from the book and hope that the shelter shows up again. This author really delivered on what I look for in a Christian novel and I look forward to reading more of her work.
I was given this book by the author and willing chose on my own to write a review.
