Sure, she was kind of forced to be with the group they are in, but she sure grew. She did some good. At the end of the day, I’d say it was a time well spent.
But can she pull this off, or will she lose the only family she's come to know?
Such a thrilling read! Kept me on my toes, excited for what's to come. I was sad it was over but, boy, am I so glad I have the rest of the series. Cannot wait to get more of this fantastic spy series!
Full of spies, missions, family, friends, fun moments and a hint of romance.
Perfect for readers of spy romances.
That being said, I loved Kelly as the lead character. She’s smart as can be and just a little bit on the klutzy side, so seeing her morph into an undercover model and fight her natural tendencies was a fun ride. She gets flustered when she’s nervous and is just about the most unlikely of teens to become a spy, but her intellect and drive to succeed ultimately serve her well.
I really wanted to see more of the other teens in the program. The author does a wonderful job of setting up this diverse and interesting cast of characters, but they really don’t feature much into the main plot line and we only get a small glimpse of what they can do. This book is the first in a series, so perhaps we see more of them in a later book, but I really missed having these characters developed into part of the plot.
Overall, this was a fun read that had lots of untapped potential. It ends up reading a little predictable, but the main characters are likable and the plot is fast-paced. It’s worth a quick read.
Model Spy is one of those quick, vacation-reads books. It's light and fast paced but not overbearingly so. The characters are lovable, I'd have loved to see the other characters developed more, but, I guess the subsequent books will deal with that.
The plot itself was pretty simple if not a little predictable, however, I was found that this worked for the story. The one thing that I didn't really like was the fact that, while enjoyable, it didn't really leave an impression on me. I liked the characters but wasn't able to love them as much as I would have liked.
If you're looking for a quick read and something to satisfy the spy in you, this is definitely your book.
The story begins by capturing your attention immediately, which is always good because some books lack this and it is hard to get the past the first few chapters and get to the real meat of the story. Of course, it is always good to involve some sort of romance, which this book so tastefully involves. However, what I truly enjoyed was that the romance didn't overpower the book, but played a role in moving it along. If you want a little bit of romance with your action, this is the way to go :)
The reason why I gave this book four stars is because the second book of the series is the only book out of the four that is not a Kindle book. You get sucked in to the Gigi's story and lifestyle and it gets broken by the lack of the second book. Shame :(

Now, I don't know about you but I enjoy realistic characters with realistic talents. So as long as a hero's powers are justified by a rule or pattern, I'm satisfied.Though this wasn't the case with Kelly, she just kept cracking codes and typing new ones herself. Greenland could have done more research on hacking and made the events more realistic, this could also improve Kelly's monologues.
The plot and the characters are entertaining enough and fun to read. The locations are also interesting. (But again, the whole saving the day plan is not that original.)
In conlusion Model Spy is a light readable book. If you have nothing else to read and some time to spare why not, although I wouldn't especially recommend it.
I would recommend this book to teens looking for an easy going action book.
I would readily recommended it for anyone aged 12-16
It's a really good read for anyone into action books.
