Editorial Reviews

From the Inside Flap

To add to the value of this book, I've also added a database of free e-flashcards and a entirely new count - The Red Zen System. A level two count designed to reduce errors by increasing the chances of any two cards canceling out or equaling zero. The accuracy of the Red Zen system is comparable to any level two card coutning system, while it's simplicity is perfect for novice to advanced card counters.

From the Back Cover

"Refreshing... A book that explores both the profit and the risk. The solid foundation in mathematics makes MCC a must have for any serious counter."

An excellent source of information! I have been using outdated level one systems for a while and finally mustered up the courage to learn a level two system. First I tried Omega but the side counts and conversions made it so hard that I was losing money from mistakes. The red zen system, so well taught here in Modern Card Counting was so much easier than I expected and my bankroll is growing fast. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking to make more money from the casino.

I've already read about every card counting book out there, but the feature I liked most about Modern Card Counting was the e-flashcards. It's great to see an author take full advantage of wifi and the other capabilities of today's ereaders, without wasting pages of the book. The flash cards cover every major deck scenario so it's a great tool on the road. Now I use the flashcards in my hotel before going out counting. Could not be easier to use and saves me a lot of time, not to mention suitcase space. A Great book for anyone learning or already on the strip.

After reading several other books on blackjack I came across Modern Card Counting. It was incredible how specific this book gets about how much you can expect to win, and how much it is possible to lose . With indebth analysis of standard deviation and how it is affected by bankroll, bet size, and hours played, this book will tell you exactly what to expect. Mathematically you are not guaranteed to make money counting if you only play a few hours. This book doesn't shy away from this fact and instead explains thoroughly how much you must play before huge profits are guaranteed. Gamblers that are serious about winning instead of loosing will love this book, but expect to put in some hours at the casino. A+

Take it sincerely and this book will be the weapon with witch you take your sweet revenge on the caino. Somewhere between a silent assassin and James Bond, card counters are the only casino patrons that have experienced the true feeling of playing a game that they are not able to lose. Just as the casino uses statistics to guarantee a long term profit, so does the card counter. People may make it sound like a dishonest hobby, but there is nothing less dishonest than math. Even over a life time of counting, a professional counter probably won't make as much as the owner of the Casino, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great way to make a million dollars. Learn to count and the dealer will be piling up your chips with a smile.

I liked this book. It was easy to read, easy to understand and didn't drone on about nonsense or unrelated information. A good starting point for someone looking into counting.

Wow! My boyfriend had become obsessed with wanting to learn how to count cards after watching some movies where actors make it look kind of easy. Secretly, I never ever thought he'd be able to learn to count cards because he's not super great at math or anything. But, when I saw an add for this book at Sams Club, I thought, "why not buy it for him for his birthday?" In two weeks, he actually went to the casino and came home with enough money for us to take a cruise!!!!We had such great luck with this, I just sent a gift copy of the ebook to my brother-in-law to read on his Kindle.
Cheers to the author--brilliant work!

The author did not provide a comparison as to the effectiveness of his count system compared to others. If it is truly a better count why not show how it matches up against the tried and true. If you are a beginner it will give you a hand up with the basic knowledge it provides, but I would not use his count until I saw some evidence .

I already knew and use the basic card counting method but it was great to find other methods a little more complex for the experienced counter as well for new counters.
The cost of the book is nothing compared to what you can make at a casino with all the advice given.
