Learn alot from watching these when I was younger. They got better over the years, such a shame history channel turned into the pawnstars network, they almost never show modern marvels anymore.stopped making them all together. Last new one was the panama canal supersized. Now history channel is dead. All they show is pawnstars....american pickers...and ancient aliens...all of which are pure garbage. Now more war documentary's...no m ore military blunders, no more anything good, just """reality""" tv that has just about nothing to do with history. And remember history channel 2? Well they turned that into VICELAND....what a disgusting channel. I hope Trump makes TV great again. after hes done making earth great again. if you wanna leave some hate go ahead, you are most likely a tool of the devil...AKA hillary rotten.

Thank you and god bless modern marvels.

I spent 40+ years working with the industries portrayed in these shows and have recommended them to friends with small children to promote a learning experience with bonding time. They have some quality time and it gives children knowledge of what is in the world to aspire to. This program and books (DVD) like the "The Ascent of Man by Jacob Bronowski" can give children a head start in life. These are adult level programs and require an adult to provide explanations.

Horrible episode. It did not explain or showcase real truck driving at all. No mention of weigh stations, CBs, truck stops, etc. First 10 minutes was a Brad Paisley commercial. Next 10 was a body shop commercial. Next 10 was a Ford commercial, and the last 10 was a Mack commercial lol.

This is one of several programs that explore engineering and construction projects that push the envelope in some way. Taller buildings, deeper tunnels, bridges with longer and wider spans using novel materials or newly- or specially-developed construction techniques are at the core of these programs. Other that run in the same vein are "Extreme Engineering" and "Build It Bigger".

This program takes a look at a common item that most of us that are not in a maintenance field rarely think about. This is a top notch, class A MM due to content and announcers. re uses some footage I had seen before but almost none. I have seen every MM aired and this is in the top 10% (not including Engineering disasters which are my favorite).

According to the History website, Season 4 Episode 6 is suppose to be "History -- Modern Marvels Captured Light: The Invention of Still Photography". This is not the case. The link is incorrect or Amazon is incorrect. Either way it was a waste of money and misleading.

Excellent episode. I've had the pleasure to speak with Danise Coon of the Chili Pepper Institute who is featured in the "Hot and Spicy" episode. If you need to know anything about peppers, she's your go to gal.

i like the episodes showing one specific subject. These are full of broad good info on that particular subject. I feel like I'm learning something. While the compilation episodes ....... eg "greatest"," strongest", or other superlative that lump together several different editorial choices ........ tend to be tedious / particularly in the constant repetition of the rankings as the episode progresses, which borders on boring.
