I absolutely loved this book as a kid. I have all my other books I kept from my childhood but for the life of me could not find this one,so decided to buy it. Course you know how THAT goes....when something's lost the minute you buy it's replacement you find the original...yep found it. But that's ok cuz the new one the grand kids get to read....it's a great book!

mogo is a little kikuyu boy who lives in kenya. he is small, puny, and has been weak since birth.
as he grew older, the only thing he was able to do and was very good at,was playing the flute.
mogo was ashamed that he was not strong enough to do "man's work" so,he went to see a local
wise man named,mundo-mugo. the wise man told mogo to learn to do other things besides playing
the flute which, mogo did, but one day mogo and some other boys were out herding goats,a storm
came upon them suddenly and all the goats ran away! oh no,what will happen when the boys return
to the village without the goats?!?!? mogo's story reminds me of one of aesop's fables. it is the story
of a boy that no one expects much from (not even mogo himself) but,in the end,his "gift" of the
flute playing pulls him through. a nice story, different.
