To make the story a little less confusing, I need to explain what the product looks like. The activation code comes in a thin sealed pamphlet-like book. Once opened, there is silver scratch ink covering the activation code.
When I tried to activate the code, there was an error saying that the activation code that I got was "expired" even though what it came in was unopened and the ink covering the activation code was unscratched. I contacted the company asking about this new code being expired, and they said that the code expired a couple of days ago. There was nothing on the cover of the book that said anything about the code expiring by a certain time. I was then told that there wasn't really anything I could do. After calling another time, I was told to ask the vendor to contact them to show that I really did buy a new code and then was given a vague response of "and we'll see what we can do from there."
