I LOVE this calendar - it is the one thing that keeps my family organized as our lives get busier and busier, even my husband looks at it daily!! (you have no idea how HUGE that is!!) My only complaint is that I would love to buy a 12month option - I have the 2011-2012 17 month calendar so for me the Aug-Dec 2012 pages of this calendar are a waste, I don't need a 17 month calendar every year.

This is the 3rd year in a row that I've purchased this calendar. Every year I compare other options on the market. Sometimes I've purchased an alternative - and regretted it enough to spend the extra money to get this one as well. :( It's by no means perfect, but it's as close as I've found for our family.
For those saying it doesn't offer enough space: When I find there isn't enough room to write, I realize that I am over-booking either myself or one of the kids. So it's also a good conscience-keeper for me and helps me say "no" to too many activities. With 4 family members, we have an extra column for notes or details which is handy. It took my husband a while to get used to the way it is arranged, but once you start using it you'll realize the lay-out is actually very simple and helpful.

Once I bought my first "Mom's Family Calendar" in 2005, I was hooked! The calendar has 5 columns for tracking multiple schedules - it's an easy and organized way to keep track of who is doing what and when. Great for both busy or forgetful parents :-) It also has 2 sheets of small stickers and cute characters that you can place on important days (label stickers include birthday, vacation, no school, doctor, travel, game, 1/2 day, sleepover, library, haircut, field trip, vet, etc). It also comes with a magnetic card, "Mom's Family Phone List" to write down important numbers and place on your refrigerator.

I don't even bother looking at other calendars any more. Every year, I order this one.

When I first saw this calendar at a store, I thought it would be great with a column for each person in the family. I didn't buy it then and was happy to see it on Amazon. Having used it for a few months now, I will not purchase it again. Once activities are filled in, the calendar looks very messy, making it hard to see what activities are on each day for each person. I am going back to the conventional calendar format with extra large boxes for each day for lots of writing room and easy to see if there is anything on a particular day. Glad I tried this calendar, though, so I can stop wondering about it.

This should be an 18 month Calendar. I have the Aug 2011 - Dec 2012. If I order this 5 months will be wasted. If they made it 18 months then it would go from Jan 2013 to June 2014 and July 2014 to Jan 2015 and so on.... makes more sense how do we write to the publisher of Sandra Boynton and let them know. or just make a 12 month Calendar.

We have used this calendar for 4-5 years now and I would not use anything else. There is ample space to write for everyone in the family, it is laid out well, attractive and I love the pocket at the bottom. The fact you can start using it at the beginning of the school year and go all the way through the next complete year is a REAL plus. It keeps us very organized. I highly recommend it.

I LOVE that this calendar separates each column per person. It helps me keep track of my family and things to do for the month. Visually, it takes some getting used to. It's not your typical block calendar. The dates are lined up on the left and the columns to the right allow you to organize your schedule per family member.

Pros:
-Nice weight to the paper so it's not flimsy or see through. You can use a permanent marker and it wont bleed through.
-Large print so its easy to see and read.
-Colorful with stickers. So the kids LOVE to fill in their blocks with their schedules.
-The pocket on the back cover for holding small pieces of paper, notes, etc. is a nice feature. I use it to hold appointment reminders so I can double check them against the calendar.

Cons:
-The blocks are just a tad bit small. I personally don't mind it, but please see my next "con" below.
-Although the glossiness of the paper helps to prevent bleeding, it's not good for gel ink type pens and some ball point pens. Pencils don't write easily on this type of paper either. So we use a fine tip sharpie. Mistakes mean even less room in the block.
-The thicker paper makes this calendar a little bit heavy so you need extra strong magnets to put this up on your refrigerator. We pin ours to the wall (drywall). I'm just a little concerned with the push pin sagging down as the year goes by.
-The format. I bought this for 2013. So August to November 2012 is a waste of paper and weight on my wall.

I'm normally a 3 month calendar type of mom. I like to see the previous, current, and next month at all times so I can plan accordingly. This calendar does NOT allow me to do that. So, I need to get used to this new format.

However, the structure of this type of calendar makes it easier for me to see each family members plans at a glance. And this is why I love it. I'll just put my 3 month calendar up near by for forecasting schedules.

We are a small, but active, family and this calendar is very helpful! I religiously buy one every year. I love the format - there is a column for mom and then four more columns (total of 5) you can customize. We are a family of three but have three pets, so each human has a column, there is one for the pets (I track their vet app'ts there as well as their monthly flea/tick etc and b'days), and then I use the last one for Reminders (general family things to know like house cleaners coming or relatives' b'days, etc).

It's a year and a half calendar, but I buy it annually. So that part isn't a selling feature to me. But if it's valuable to other families I guess I'm glad they make it that way.

Stickers are cute but we always forget to use them. Sometimes when I take it down to do big updates (like at the start of a soccer season I add all the practices and games) my 6 year old joins me and he has a great time decorating dates.

I do use the important numbers sheet. It's stuck to the side of our fridge and has everything a sitter needs on it.

I use the pocket as well. If I get a sports schedule hard copy I add the dates to the calendar and stick the hard copy in the pocket. Nice to have the original in case there are questions or if I need to take it with me. I do have to use a paperclip to clip the papers in the pocket to the back sheet of the calendar or else the tend to fall forward and out (the pocket is shallow) as we get towards the second half of the year and there are less sheets to hold the papers in place.

Everyone knows to look at the calendar. If it's on there, it's booked. We update our electronic calendars from it and it's nice to have something tangible as the main source.

Overall - I really love this calendar.
