Seems extremely sturdy and attached well to the desk, and they send you plenty (even extra) parts allowing for either flat or curved monitor backs. And all the tools, save a screwdriver, are included. I would highly recommend a second person to hold the monitors in place while the first person screws them on. I tried it on my own at first, and it was too difficult and cumbersome to handle. The directions could have been a clearer, but they weren't impossible to decipher.
Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase, and it's given me a lot more free space on the desktop. I would recommend measuring where you want your monitors to sit, as there are several options on the back post, but once it's all in place, it will be a pain to adjust higher or lower. I put mine one hole too low, but the hassle isn't worth the change.
I had to cut a 5" x 7" hole in the back sheet metal of my one desks because the exposed edge wasn't large enough for the clamp. Fortunately it's up against the wall and isn't seen, and it's a fairly cheap desk. The base is about 4" x 4" so you need about that much of a footprint on the desk. On the second (walnut) desk I only had about 1 1/2" to clamp to but the top is about 1 1/4" thick and the mount seems secure. No, I wasn't going to cut a gaping hole in that one even though it too is against a wall. The clamp has some padding so it shouldn't mark up the top of the desk very much.
The screen can adjust up to almost flat (looking at the ceiling) and down to where you can't see it. It rotates all the way around to portrait if you want. If you have someone sitting next to the desk (like a clerk in a law office) you could rotate a screen so they could see. But there's no way to adjust the height (in the Y direction) of each monitor individually. So if you have two different brands of monitors they won't line up as well as you'd like. Also the X direction can only be affected by swinging the arm toward you or away from you. So it's a bit limited, but for the price compared to the $300.00 ones I was looking at it is great. The front of the middle screen is about 13" from the back of the desk I had to cut (where the clamp is on all the way) or 18" from the front (30" width total). On the walnut desk it's about 11" from the back (where I only got a 1 1/2" bite with the clamp base) and 23 inches from the front (33 1/2" total width).
Plan on longer cables though, especially if you want to use the cable management and your tower is on the floor. I had to order at least 10 foot cables, and 15 feet might be better in some instances. This will add cost, but you'd have to do it with just about any multi-monitor setup. By the time the cable goes along the underside of the arm, over the top and down the middle of the big post, through a hole in the back, then down to the tower, you'll need extra length. The cable ends do fit fairly well through the hole in the back.
I'll probably buy some of these for stock.
I have 3 Samsung 204T 20" monitors. The monitors are in portrait mode, so they are effectively as wide as 15" monitors. Thus, they fit very well, allowing me to angle the outer monitors comfortably. Without the stands, the monitors weigh 13 pounds each, so I am at exactly the specified weight limit, and the stand is holding them well.
Installation was surprisingly easy, and all parts were included, including the hex wrench. You will need to provide a flat screw driver to secure the monitors. The stand even has built-in wire management.
I'd recommend this stand over the double monitor stand: they look to be identical, except the triple has the additional mount. Ironically, the triple costs a smidge less, and you have an option for the future.
I am very satisfied. This product solved my problem, and the price is excellent.
