At first the leather band was very stiff and creaky, after a week of use it has softened up somewhat. I'm sure in a couple of weeks as it absorbs more moisture and oils, it will get softer and more comfortable. If I can find a high quality 22mm nylon strap that I like I would replace the band.
Since I set it, the watch has skipped about 1 or 2 seconds in a week. That's very reasonable and I love low maintenance not overstated design.
Although the watch is rated 100 meters the crown is not a screw down and there is no crown guard but it should be sufficient water protection for shower, swimming and casual snorkel. That covers the rigors of daily activities so I don't have to think about if the watch will survive jumping in the pool, etc.
The watch is 41mm diameter and 11mm thick. 43mm if you include the crown.
No problem with the batteries.
Spent $50 for a jeweler to replace movement.
Suspect same watch made for LL Bean, which I had to replace three times for same slowing of time problem.
In the past six months or so, I've had no reliability concerns. I find the watch very comfortable to wear.
It has kept _perfectly_ accurate time since I set it 10 months ago.
The band is genuine leather, and I would have preferred solid black without the white stitching.
The 41 mm case diameter is not strangely huge: just right.
The overall build reinforces the best of the "Made In Switzerland" reputation.
Final Impression: This watch has unique tritium tube illumination without the ridiculous 'Navy Seal' or 'Stealth Fighter' styling on the Luminox watches (which also license the tritium tube technology). It has the striking Swiss Railway dial (and accuracy): understated, utilitarian, perfect. Hats off to Apple Computer for paying $20 million to license its classic 'look'. I only paid $250 to wear it on my wrist.
Only one star off from perfect due to the personal preference re: stitching on band.
Well done, and greatly appreciated!
