Top Customer Reviews
The author takes his readers through his content by story telling. If you liked reading books like WHO MOVED MY CHEESE, THE GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD, and other books of the parable genre, you'll appreciate how Joe Duran delivers his message; it's insightful and fun.
He also breaks down his message into pithy lists, such as "The 5 Money Secrets" and "The Two Eternal Truths About Decision Making," and follows them up with straightforward illustrations, which makes his teaching points memorable and meaningful.
The book also has a personality-assessment aspect. Part of the author's message is that we need to understand ourselves in order to improve how we make decisions about money, so he gives checklists to determine our "Money Mind." According to the author, there are three Money Minds, and each of us has one. He then teaches us how to understand our own Money Mind as well as that of others. The Money Mind aspect was very helpful. It shed light on why I always make the same mistakes about money, and it provided solutions to address the weaknesses in my thoughts and actions.
In the realm of personal finance books, THE MONEY CODE offers something refreshingly new and different from other titles I've read. It's less about investment advice and more about learning about yourself and those you care about. The saying that sums up what I think the MONEY CODE is about is, "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." This book was a true joy to read.
