I saw this on TV. Just happened to turn it on and I'd never seen it before. I don't know why. I loved the Monkees when I was a teen-ager. They were my favorite boy band. With the recent loss of Davey Jones, I've had a renewed kindling of yearning for their music and silly antics.
This Christmas program is wonderful, starring Butch Patrick as a spoiled, rich kid who doesn't know how to smile, laugh or enjoy life.... until the Monkees come along. They slowly teach him that life is not all seriousness and snobbery. That even money doesn't buy happiness. Happiness is where you make it. It's a choice you make. And it doesn't hurt to smile, or even to laugh. In fact, you feel much better when you do.
And the spanish carol they sing accapella is thrilling. I'm a fan of accapella music. Harmony. The blend of voices, like instruments, sends shivers down my spine... it's so beautiful! I'm definitely buying this one for sure. I've got to have it! It's too good to pass up.
