My three year old daughter loves this book and makes me read it to her almost nightly. The story is great and easy for her to follow and the illustrations are some of the best I've ever seen in a kids book.

This is a rhyming book about a boy that gets a present from the Monkey of the Month Club. Each month comes with a new monkey and a new adventure. Although we only get to see about 8 monkeys in all (I was a bit disappointed that the author could not give us all 12 months of monkeys) before the mother sends the monkeys away. But I guess it is surprising that his mother could put up with 8 months of monkeys!

There's no moral to the story accept perhaps to adults to be careful what you gofts you give to kids on their birthdays. It might be best to check with Mom first.

Overall this book has a cute story with nicely done illustrations.

This is a great book aimed at preschool and young elementary school-aged children and is entertaining for the grown-ups reading it to them too. Told in rhyming verse, it tells the story of a young boy who receives a very unusual gift-- a membership to the Monkey of the Month club. Each month a different kind of monkey arrives at his house doing all kinds of silly things. The story is lots of fun and and has wonderfully detailed and colorful illustrations. Each time I look at the pictures I find some new and clever detail. A few of the words might be a challenge for young children to understand, but I just see that as a learning opportunity. My 4-1/2 year old nephew loved the book when it was read to him.

I really enjoyed Monkey of the Month! The illustrations are bright, lively, and appropriately cartoony--they reminded me of all of the animated shows I used to watch after school, like Tiny Toons and Animaniacs. The story is charming and inventive, the tale of a young boy who receives an unsolicited membership into the "Monkey of the Month Club," leaving his long-suffering mother to deal with the consequences as the monkeys and apes just keep arriving and taking over the house as the year goes on. I loved the variety of monkeys--it was a nice touch that kept the visuals varied and provided a lot of opportunity for personality quirks and sight gags. The ending of the book has a neat surprise that I won't spoil here, but it made me laugh out loud. Definitely recommended, and I can't wait to see what they write next!

This books is so much fun! The kids absolutely love it. In fact they loved it so much, we actually gave a copy as a gift for neighbor at a recent birthday party. Not only is the story cute and captivating, but the illustrations lend themselves to so many fun discussions as you are reading the book over and over again. This is a story they will want to read again and again, of that I have no doubt. Another thing I loved about this book is that it is truly gift quality. The paper, the binding, the cover jacket are beautiful. I find it more and more difficult to find really high quality books to give as gifts, so this is very important to me.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My eight year old granddaughter loved this book. Even commented on how expensive this book looked! She learned a few new words and enjoyed reading this book over and over. I hope this author brings us more stories that are entertaining to all age groups. Rac

I read Monkey of the Month, in exchange for review from Netgalley.com. The book was written by Adam Cramer. The book was also published by Schiffer Publishing LTD. The book is about a boy, who receives a different type of monkey each month, for a year. Each monkey has a different talent, such as cooking or cleaning. Towards the end, the mother gets tired of the monkeys. The book has a happy ending. The pictures are cute, colorful, and hilarious. Love this book and so did the kids.
