I have the Sony MDRV6 headphones, which are OK, but I wanted better sound and took a chance on the M650. I'm thrilled.

I use these headphones for classical music and I'm astounded at the clarity. I'm hearing details I've never head before with the MDRV6. And unlike the MDRV6 headphones, which sound sterile, these headphones are quite a joy to listen to while still sounding "accurate." The only downside is that you can better hear the deficiencies in the sound of older music recorded on inferior equipment.

The headphones come with two ear pads: leather(pleather?) and cloth. As reviews on some other sites have noted, the leather pads distort the sound by boosting the mid-bass. Therefore, I took off the leather pads and put the cloth pads on. The sound is wonderful with the cloth pads. Some reviews have complained that the cloth pads are itchy and recommend buying an upgraded set of cloth pads, but I've experienced no problems.

I've only had the headphones a short time, so I cannot comment on durability, but the build seems very solid, and the headphones are comfortable to wear.

NOTE: These headphones appear to be made for large heads. I have a rather large head and these fit fine, but my wife has a small head and they are too big for her.

Appear to be of excellent construction quality.
Band is not set up to adjust to smaller head sizes.
I would have needed to glue or tape some type of pad on the underside of the headband if I had kept.
Very good overall sound; however, I did not find the musical flow to my taste.
Wires do run to both sides vs a single connection on one side as many headphone have.

These are one of the worst pairs of headphones I've ever owned. The sound quality it self is great, but i have a pretty sizeable head and they are still way too loose for me, you can barely even look up or down without them sliding all the way off and on to the ground, which is exactly how mine broke after only 6-8 months of use. Another huge design flaw, the cables plug into the headphones from the bottom, right where your shoulders would normally be unless you were some half human half giraffe, so the cords get bent and pinched very quickly. If you're unlucky like me, they slide right off your head when you look down at your phone and fall right onto the cables and the flimsy cables break and good bye headphones. Great sound quality, one of the worst physical designs ever invented, would not recommend.

The first thing you think about these is the beryllium driver. Yes it has one, but there is much more to a headphone than driver material. These drivers appear to be under-damped, which means it's going to add 'reverb' to your input signal. Some people might call this 'soundstage'. Phooey! Let the mixing engineer add reverb.

Also, it's just slightly too large. It needs to be shorter so I can adjust the earcups to optimal length.

I wear hearing aids and also need a boost to hear what is said in some of the Zoom meetings I'm in. So I wear headphones AND my hearing aids. These just weren't comfortable enough for me to get through a meeting, altho I really like the look of them.

One of the top headphones in it's price range. It sounds great- smooth and dynamic. I have many headphones but would recommend this one.

These are absolutely cracking headphones. They have good noise reduction, absolutely thumping bass and pick up the tiny details in songs I've previously never even noticed. They look really swish too!

They felt like a gamble as I'd not heard of Monolith before, but having read the reviews I'm so glad I chose them :) I think the price is very reasonable too, plus the assurance of a 30 day satisfaction period is all the more reason to take a chance on them.

    You won't regret it!
