This DVD Mount Bracket is designed-Inch attach-Inch the back of your TV in its VESA mount holes. The unit has a smoked glass shelf that can be placed above or below the TV-Inch hold a DVD player or any other similarly sized device. The bracket can fit on almost any TV with a maximum VESA mount size of 400x380. The maximum weight capacity of the bracket is 10 kg (22 lbs) so if it is setup with the shelf under the TV the-Inch tall weight of the TV and whatever is put on the shelf cannot exceed the maximum weight capacity. The shelf can also be mounted above the display in which case it can support the entire 22 lb. weight.

This mount was great for what I needed. Works out perfectly for our setup. Took me about 10 minutes to get the mount assembled with instructions. Then I had to take tv off wall and place mount between tv and wall mount bracket. Probably another 15 minutes. To give perspective on size, my TV is a 32" Sanyo (check out photos).

Shelf size is approximately 18" wide and 10" deep at the center.

Glass shelf feels very secure in the mounting hardware.

We're very pleased with it. You will be too.

Got this to have our center channel speaker up over our new 49" TV as it was a bit too high to sit in front of the new TV. Works great albeit with a little mod.
For larger TV's the brackets are not long enough to reach the bottom 2 VESA mounting holes. As this make the shelf lean forward with anything on it, I took 2 bolts, 4 washers and 2 nuts to create "legs" higher up that stop the shelf from going forward. Also put 2 felt stick-on pads between the head of the bolt and the back of TV. Shelf is now stable.

No problems putting the shelf together, very easy. Does not come with screws to mount to TV, in my case our Toshiba TV uses metric M6 thread screws. M6x16mm worked fine for this TV. Check your TV's manual or web site to get the size & thread.

I bought this shelf because I needed a nice mount for a center channel speaker over my flat panel TV. I didn't want to go with a standard speaker wall mount because my TV is on an articulated mount, so it was important to get a shelf that could be mounted in conjunction with my existing mount (also a Monoprice mount). However, this shelf is huge. It can easily hold your Blu-ray player, video game systems, and then some. I didn't want something nearly that huge above my TV, so I used the parts from this to make my own shelf. I'm not making any use of the glass shelf and had to trim the horizontal support arms down with a hacksaw, then sand down them down with a Dremel and finish with black spray paint. Next I got a custom laser cut piece of 5mm black plexiglas for the new shelf that fits my speaker perfectly. When mounted on the shortened support arms I now have a perfect mount for my center channel speaker. It's sad that I had to get the glass shelf too, but this appears to be the cheapest way to get mounts for a custom shelf for your flat panel TV.

This is my third purchase of this shelf. I have one on all my TV's. This allows you to put a blueray player directly underneath the tv when wall mounting. I'm not sure what else I would have done if these were not available. Mounting them is very easy. The glass shelf basically just slides onto plastic clips mounted to the metal braces. This allows great flexibility. You just put them between your wall mount and the TV using the same VESA hardware. I have high ceilings and mount my TV's pretty high up to keep them out of the way and put a pretty decent angle on them to make viewing and I have never been concerned with my dvd player slipping.

The glass shelf looks nice and is well made. I am a female and had no trouble assembling it until it came time to attach it to the back of my TV. I am using it on the top of the TV with the shelf facing the back of the TV so it doesn't hang over the screen. It works fine this way since my TV is on a stand and not mounted. You must make sure you have enough room between the TV and the wall, since the shelf is deeper than I expected. Now on to the problem. The kit does NOT include mounting screws to mount the shelf to the back of the TV......really?? So I had to rummage through the garage where I found a various screws from previous projects. I don't know the exact size you need, maybe one of you Handymen out there can chime in on that. Anyhow, I found some that seemed long enough, but then you also need a wide head on the screw or it will go right through the bracket holes. No problem, I just put washers on the ends and it worked. It's attached to a 46inch Philips, and measured up just right. It's a make shift set-up, but a girls got to do what a girls got to do! I am using it for a center speaker on my home theater system that weighs about 6 lbs. works fine. Makes for a clean, look and I like it.
Subtracted one star for the lack of TV mounting screws, but otherwise it's a nice product for the price.

First, the directions are not good. Assembly was simple but putting it on the tv ...made no sense. My TV was the right size and type but there is no way to put these under the wall mount hardware with the raised lip on the rails.

More importantly, even if I could figure out a way to use the thing (and I probably could if I rigged something up), I wouldn't. The clips that hold the shelf on don't get tight enough to make me feel it's safe and all of the screws stripped during assembly. I'm not super strong - I didn't overdo the effort - they just stripped too easily.

Honestly - I would send this back if I could do so without driving 45 minutes...

The price is fair, the glass is nice. The small screws strip immediately so do not tighten them too much. The clips that hold the glass are plastic junk. I would not seriously consider putting a CD/DVD player or VCR on this shelf unless it is the size of a Walkman. I am using it for a center channel speaker on top. I had to fashion my own spacers and washers from stuff I had laying around. This does not include the bolts to mount it to your TV. I was surprised UPS did not smash this during delivery. I am happy with the item overall but you are forewarned about some issues I had.
