I purchased these Male-to-Male cables to interface a Samsung S5 smartphone and/or a MP3 player with the sound system in a new Chrysler Town & Country Van. The Samsung S5 has Blue Tooth link capability but the MP3 player does not. This connector allows us to connect any type of device that has a standard 3.5mm Female audio jack connector (for ear phones) to connect into the sound system of the vehicle.
This Male-to-Male connector works fine for that. The 3ft. length is acceptable to have the phone or player located in the console without too much extra cable to interfere. It is long enough for either the driver, or front seat passenger to manipulate the phone or audio player without too much limitation in position but is not long enough to reach 2nd row seating or to the outside of the front seat area. You would need other, longer cables or a Female-to-Female connector to link two of these cables together.
The connectors on the cables are reasonably sturdy and look to be able to withstand a reasonable amount of manipulation and connections without breaking. The actual cables themselves are flexible at temperatures down to 0 C. though they are of finer gauge. I do not know how sturdy the cable wires are and the fine gauge is somewhat of a concern for long life. Since I paid less than US$1.50 for the cable, I bought 2 in case the first one breaks. This isn't a mission critical part so I'm not too concerned.
The cables do transmit signal.Read more ›

Cable is intermittent upon arrival. Both connectors are fine; the break seems to be in the middle of the coiled cable. I have a sadness.Published 19 days ago by Samuel L. Cox
What a wonderful little cable, nice and compact. Of course it does not stretch very far with the coil type of cable, that is expected.Published 26 days ago by KYVTX
Great for keeping a line input tidy in a car, just enough cable to get to your player at arms length but not a mess laying all over your car. Good solution for that application.Published 28 days ago by Cliff
