There is not one negative thing to say about this cable. As always, Monoprice delivers high quality. The cable is thick, but very pliable. The molded ends are well made and very substantial. The ends are gold plated. And when plugged in, the connections are very firm, to insure uninterrupted trouble free data transfer. In my opinion, at even double the price, Monoprice is the best economically priced cable you can buy. Their cables always exceed expectations on all points.

Some sellers use the Monoprice name, then send you a poor quality substitute. It's happened to me. All Monoprice brand cables are in a sealed bag with their name, item number, and "Monoprice" is in very small letters on the male end of the cable. Without that, it's a fake. I would bet that if the low reviewers looked for this on their cables, they are fakes.
Some might say, "What's the big deal, it's just a cable". To which I say, if you're paying the same price for the inferior cable, doesn't it make sense to choose the superior one.

I have a number of Monoprice cables, and a few "not monoprice", Monoprice cables. I have never received a bad real Monoprice or had one fail on me. To be sure that that you will get a genuine monoprice cable, consider my buying criteria below. Since I started, I have always received the Monoprice brand.

FINAL WORD FOR 100% CLARITY BEFORE ORDERING: Having Monoprice in the title or "By Monoprice" is not enough to insure it's genuine. Look for: "SOLD BY MONOPRICE", and you will definitely get the real, high quality cable.

Very high quality product. We have a ton of these for our business. They are used to charge a number of wireless devices. These cables are heavy duty, stable, stand up to the daily abuse of getting tossed around and used non-stop. Plus they are able to handle the higher charging current of 2.4amps which we used to charge a few of our devices. Actually here now to buy a bunch more!

This is the cadillac of USB A to USB mini-B cables. Very rugged construction and the gold plated plugs are low resistance. Didn't fix my problem, but I've ruled the cable out. At this price everyone should buy this.

This cable has met my expectations. It is well constructed and seems quite reliable. No dropouts as one sometimes experiences in lower quality cables, especially in longer lengths such as this. Shipper delivered the product safely packaged and in a timely manner. Good experience all 'round.

I bought it in July 2014 to connect my GPS to my computer after losing the original bit. It is a bit long for the purpose but since many other devices ask for a similar cable I don't really mind.

It is a simple that does the job of transferring data between my GPS and the computer. I only use it occasionally when I need to update the software or the map. Besides that, I used it a couple of times to connect my external optical drive to the computer to burn bluray discs. For both cases, it worked flawlessly and did the job.

Based on the specifications like the ferrite core (which acts as a barrier to reduce noise during data transfer) and the gold plated connectors (offering a more reliable and corrosion resistant connection) and the price ($3.58+ free shipping) it stands out as an excellent deal.

Despite not being eligible for two day prime shipping, it came within 3 business days of ordering so the delivery was OK too.

It is strange to see that it is way less popular than the amazon basic alternative AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A Male to Mini B Cable - 3 Feet (0.9 Meters) which costs $5.09 for same length and amperage cable that does not even contain a ferrite core. I would, for sure, buy it again if needed

I already have several different cables from Monoprice. All of them work perfectly, and cost less less than similar quality cables. The Monoprice 3-Feet USB 2.0 A Male to Mini-B 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable with Ferrite Core is no exception. It's well made, works perfectly, and costs less than $5. I use it with my GPS and radio scanners. I can't ask for anything more.
