Note: For best results These earphones should be broken in by playing pink noise through them for about 24 hours. The difference in sound quality before and after the pink noise break-in period can be quite dramatic.

Edit Nov 26 2014; - While I do still feel that for the price these are great sounding ear buds and a good buy. There is a significant design problem with these however which should be noted before you make the purchase. These buds are designed in such a way that (as you can see on the photos), the wire entering the ear piece enters directly into the back of the ear bud itself. The wire also loops out and down from the back of the ear piece. The problem with this is that when you put them on (as with most any ear buds), you need to push them into your ear canal and when you do that on these particular design buds, you are pushing on the wire that is entering the ear bud (piece). After repeatedly doing this to the wire inevitably the wire becomes damaged. On mine the rubber insulation has come off and left a fully exposed wire on that entire looped section that enters the bud. My next ear bud purchase is going to have a design that avoids this problem. If you do purchase these buds, just be aware of this each time you put them on and try not to push on the wire entering the ear pieces.
Not what I was hoping for. These are similar to the free ones you get at health clubs.
I should've just gone to Best Buy in the first place.
I don't want these, they are uncomfortable, not the greatest sound, of course they aren't beats, but the reviews led me to believe they were going to be better than what they are. I went to BB to get something much more comfortable and better. I hate wasting my money and my time. Sad to say, but don't waste your time and money on these. Spend a little more and get some decent low priced Sony earphones.
The sound quality is great after I let it "burn in" for a few hours. I simply plugged these into my MP3 player and played music on it overnight at a slightly higher volume than I would normally listen to (so none of that pink noise stuff). When first used out of the box, everything sounded muted.
These earbuds block out sound very well, but like almost all in-ear earbuds, you will hear the cord rattle with movement and any wind.
I currently own the Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 (for the gym), two different Sennheiser headsets (for the gym or when I'm out), and the BOSE QuietComfort 15 (for travel). Price was only a small factor for this purchase as I simply wanted a spare headset to leave in my car for the few times a year I forgot to bring one to the gym. The Monoprice ended up sounding a lot better than I had expected. Audiophiles will note that the sound isn't as perfect as the Sennheisers but, the sound certainly isn't bad by any standard. It is crisp with good highs and good bass (using the correct-sized earbuds for your ear). And, they are louder than the aforementioned brands (not including the BOSE).
When I want wireless, the Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 is great. Not loud but, good sound and certainly convenient. But, when I want loud, I end up using these more than either of the Sennheisers (which have now become my spare).

Sound quality is excellent for the price. Somewhat balanced, but the bass can be a little too powerful for my tastes. Mids and highs are not recessed at all though and the detail is good enough. I put them right alongside the other Monoprices.
They are much more comfortable than the 8320's, not even a contest here.
Only fear are the tips. So far they haven't fallen off, but they don't feel like they are that secure. You get 3 size choices so getting a decent fit in your ear shouldn't be too difficult, but I might try swapping out the ones that it comes with for a different set.
First impressions are good, these are hefty with proper metal bodies even if the cheap thin wire and jack give the game away that these are budget headphones.
Sound wise, the solid build translates into solid bass with a surprising amount of control. Unfortunately, after that it all goes to pieces. The treble is scratchy and harsh, trying to claw it's way over the bass while the midrange is muddied and lost beneath everything else.
No idea on durability as after a couple of weeks I gave up on them and consigned them to the back of a drawer in case of emergencies.
Even at this money, I've bought much better
Probably not the best for walking/exercising as noise from contact with clothing travels up the wires.
Left and right are barely discernible (raised L/R on rubber strain relief collar, both have the same red grommet where the cable enters) if that sort of thing bothers you.
So far they have been comfortable and robust in daily use. Would happily recommend.
