Editorial Reviews

Review

"A well written and interesting story which leaves the reader with plenty to think about. Some excellent prose writing which creates a very real physical context and good characters. Well worth a read." ~  Barry Litherland, author of Waves Break on Unknown Shores

"Gets off to a cracking start and builds momentum from the beginning." ~ Ian Robinson, author of Rough Diamonds --This text refers to the paperback edition.

From the Author

This is the sequel to Masks of Morality, book two in a planned trilogy. It only took me two years! If that sounds long, hear this: It took me eight years to write the debut! Why so long? I wrote my novels while raising my son, doing a lot of community service work and taking trips with my family. Trips to New England, all over California skiing, hiking, kayaking, paddle-boarding, camping and loving this thing called life. Trips to the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, many lakes and beyond. I love nature and the great outdoors. I never considered myself a writer, much less a novelist. I am a mother with a voice. A voice that needed to be shouted onto paper. It was a very difficult, timely and expensive process getting these novels out, toiling over words, thoughts, ideas. I often times scribbled notes onto napkins in restaurants, in my tent while camping, or while slogging through the hauntingly beautiful deserts of California, Arizona and Nevada with an "aha" moment of wonder and acknowledgement of my intended message to readers. And I must admit ... at times I cried while writing my novels. Not from sadness but from passion. A mother's passion, to change the world through words.I write from the heart and soul. I write Contemporary Realistic Fiction set within the surreal beauty of the San Francisco Bay Area. Stories about people ~ real & imagined ~ living in a world where history, myth and politics collide. The plot surrounds a woman who goes from a high-powered career in Silicon Valley to becoming a mother and seeing the world through her child's eyes. Innocent eyes, that have not seen corruption, violence, racism and immoral politicians. That woman, Caryssa Flynn, connects the dots between corporatism and perpetual war. She becomes obsessed with shaping the future for her child, for the entire next generation. In Monster Behind the Masks, the plot thickens, and focuses on the dark money in politics. The dark money linked to innocent Americans accused of being terrorist, keeping our nation at war and a twenty-year-old girl running for her life. Running ~ from the very thing we the people have been conditioned to put on a pedestal. Our military industrial complex.  --This text refers to the paperback edition.

T.L. Mumley (born Teresa Lynn Sullivan) is a former senior marketing analyst in Silicon Valley, a mother, wife and happy homebody. She holds an AS in Fashion Merchandising from Lasell, Bachelors of Arts from MCLA and an MBA from Northeastern, with a twenty-year history in high-tech marketing and sales. An optimist at heart, she went on a personal crusade of community service and marketing for the greater good, often in her PJs from home office.

To spice up a decade of writing marketing content published in key technology magazines, she aspired to become a novelist with her debut MASKS OF MORALITY. She has also published twelve articles online surrounding social justice, which seemed to mysteriously disappear within the cyber hole she writes about.

Fueled by dark chocolate and good red wine, she can be found skiing and hiking mountains, walking, reading or doing a downward facing dog while gardening.

Although she will always be a Bostonian at heart, she lives in the San Francisco Bay area with her husband and son.
