I tracked down Boo Berry because my wife brought up, in a conversation with the kids, that her favorite cereal was Boo Berry, and she could never find it any more. It's true -- it is only available in our area of North Carolina around Halloween, and the only store that seemed to carry it was an hour's drive away. So, for a little surprise, I found it online through Amazon, and got her 3 boxes. Our daughters also enjoy it, and I got a few brownie points in the process. Have fun, stay young.

I was obsessed with BooBerry cereal as a child, and my kids are as well. We can only purchase it for one week at Halloween and it sells out the moment it hits shelves. Was excited to see it available year round on Amazon for the same price as in the grocery stores. My only issue is that I received 4 boxes on 5/19 and they expired on 5/29. I know it's not going to affect quality or taste being slightly past expiration by the time we eat all the boxes, but I expect more from Amazon. It should at least be a few months before the expiration date.

Probably the least remembered of the Monster Cereals is Boo Berry. Favorite of Roger Barr, owner and operator of I-Mockery, and complete and total Boo Berry nut, Boo Berry has a taste not unlike that of another General Mills cereal by the name of Berry Berry Kix except with Marshmallows.

Very delicious stuff, right down to the light blue milk.

Their recipe has changed, and not for the best. I remember Boo-Berry being far, far better, and different. I gave a box to my friend at work, but didn't say anything to them about what I thought. They echoed my sentiments. Very disappointed.

I got my BooBerry cereal very fast and it was packaged very neatly.. But I was very disappointed that the seller didn't tell me that the expiration date was in June... Meaning this month.. I have four boxes of cereal that will expire before I ever eat them! I would have much rather had them expire maybe in August or September.. Since I am the only one who eats them and I will never be thru with them before the end of the month.. Always tell your customers when edible items expire! But at least the price was great!

I purchased this as my son begged me for it and I couldn't find it on any of the grocery shelves. I was worried that this would be out dated or stale...it was not. All of the dates were current meaning that this item is still being made but not distributed in my area. If anyone remembers this or the other Monster cereals from years gone by and wants to have a bowl I can say that this one is still as good as ever.

I'm old enough to remember when General Mills offered this cereal year round, at least in certain markets. That said, Boo-berry was not something that was regularly carried in stores in my town. Count Chocula, sure...no problem. Frankenberry, same thing. But looking for The Boo was often an exercise in futility.

As an adult and given the current General Mills strategy of offering these cereals only on Halloween, I've taken to stocking up on them when they are released. The cynic in my is eager to point out that with all the preservatives and artificial colors/flavors, that this cereal is going to stay "fresh" for a loo-ooo-ng time. So sure, buy a year's supply every October.

As for the actual cereal, it's changed quite a bit over the years. The cereal bits used to be a bit smaller and the marshmallows were just little keg-shaped bits of nothing. It's much fancier these days, but it still turns your milk blue and it still has that overly sweet blueberry flavor. So honestly...while it's not at all healthy, as a Halloween treat I think it's just fine. It's not kashi...but it's not trying to be.

One quick note on the 2015 offering...the box offers a cutout castle project, with the three different pieces on the three varieties of monster cereal. If you want to build the castle, you'll need to buy one box each of the different varieties.

There are not enough stars to properly rate this. Has been a favorite of my since I was a little kid, but only available in October, if you are lucky enough to find any. Always recommend this cereal to my friends.
