Where is the true Vampire Queen? What secret is Robecca Steam hiding? Will Draculaura gain her vampire powers? Who is Veronica Von Vamp? All these questions will be answered in the new Monster High movie Frights, Camera, Action! – a movie filled with new friends, exciting mysteries and surprise destinations.

The vampires have been without a queen for 400 years and Draculaura is surprised to learn that she has been chosen by an ancient jewel, The Vampire’s Heart, to be the next Vampire Queen. Draculaura, Robecca Steam, Cleo De Nile, Clawdeen Wolf (and stowaway Hoodude) head to the castle of the vampire court in Transylvania in the company of the evil Lord Stoker to attend Draculaura’s coronation. Once the ghouls reach their destination, Draculaura uncovers Lord Stoker’s plot to use her as a puppet queen so he can continue his villainous rule in the absence of the true queen. Determined to stop Lord Stoker and find the rightful queen, the Monster High gang search the castle until they find a mysterious letter that holds the first clue in their adventure.

From Transylvania the gang travel to Londoom and meet up with Clawdeen’s older sister Clawdia Wolf, who is there to study dramatic writing. Clawdia soon joins the search and helps to find the next clue that will take them to New Gorleans. While searching the ghost ship “The Bijou on the Bayou” in New Gorleans the gang meets Honey Swamp – who is onboard working on a student film. Their next stop is Hauntlywood, and the gang continues their quest while being pursued by Lord Stoker’s minion Igor. Hauntlywood is their final destination, and here the gang meets the makeup artist Viperine Gorgon who introduces them to the famous actress Veronica Von Vamp.

Really cute, my kids loved it, and to be honest I really enjoyed it as well. And I loved all the new characters that were introduced as well.

There is a HUGE Monster High fan living in my home. The other day I was needing to get some work done and she was needing something to do so I rented the Monster High: Frights, Camera, Action! for her. My 5 year old loved it! For the whole time the video was playing I did not hear a peep out of her. And since I was in the same room cleaning up and working on projects I could hear the movie and I thought it was adorable.

The plot of this movie is Draculaura is trying to find out who is the real Vampire Queen. Draculaura and her friends travel all over following clues (like a treasure map, notes hidden in a skull statue) trying to find out what has happened to the Vampire Heart. It's the only thing that will identify the Vampire Queen and give the Vampires a leader. Along the way they meet some really cool new friends that help in the hunt.

I don't want to give too much away but I really enjoyed this movie and my daughter loved it. I liked how it showed kids the way riddles worked with play on words. For instance the clue was hidden in the crown. At first the group thought that meant a real crown but they were wrong. It really meant a skull because the riddle was referring to the crown of your head! I like it when shows can through in a little learning along the way.

I bought this movie for my 7-year-old granddaughter. We watched it together, and it although it was somewhat predictable, both of us were interested enough to watch it through to the end. There is no violence or profanity and the animation is good. My granddaughter has watched it many times on her own since the initial viewing and still enjoys it. I bought her the accompanying dolls, and she and her friend reenact (well, sort of) the movie. All in all, a good investment for little money.

This movie is poorly made. The excitement is you travel with the girls to help find the true Vampire Queen. What's sad is the adventure is not really an adventure for the viewers. You see them lined up gazing around, oooing and awe-ing as the background of blurred buildings & landscape passes behind them. Yes,let's skip as much detail as we can because who cares about any of that? They do this way too often in the movie. It's such a CHEAT! They go to all these places and you get to SEE very little to nothing! Even the flash back is just still pictures of a painting! Oh and the Real Queen is over the top! The voice is horrible and the movie didn't flow at all. None of the girls who watched with my daughter wanted to finish the movie or ever watch it again. I'm glad I just rented it. I bought my daughter an older Monster High movie and we have already watched it twice today. This one was just so disappointing.

My girls love everything Monster High. If I'm being honest, I'm a bit jealous we didn't have Monster High when I was growing up. Both of my daughters loved this movie and I thought it was quite cute. I love the creative character names and appreciate the way they teach little girls that being different isn't a bad thing. I would recommend it.
