I started falling in love with the Monster High line after seeing pictures online. I don't have any children, so I didn't want to make a big investment in a doll to find out that I didn't like it after all, so I picked up Roller Maze Operetta as my "Gateway Doll"

She came securely packaged, it took a few minutes to get her and her accessories free. She came dressed in a vinyl record themed dress in a 1950s sheath dress style, high heel'd roller boots, special masking helmet, and her little kneepads even had the monster high emblem on them. The clothing and accessories are all extremely cute and themed to match her "Monster Persona", the Daughter of the Phantom of the Opera. She also came with a neon green stand.

The doll herself is exceptional. I know this line has gotten criticism similar to Barbie and Bratz for having "unrealistic body image messages" but I'm an adult and these dolls, uh I mean collector's items, are for me not a kid, although if I had kids I'd let them play if they wanted to, I'm pretty confident that I could make sure they understand that the dolls aren't supposed to resemble how actual humans look.

Anyways, back to the doll. The molding is very nice, the joints on my particular doll are tight without being stiff or hard to pose. She has a gorgeous coquettish face and her hair is in a perky pony tail with a flip. I don't exactly know why they decided to add green highlights to her hair as none of her other doll versions have this. I didn't like it at first, but it is growing on me. Her hair style is not as elaborate as other Operetta versions, but it also did not come out of the box squashed like I have heard others did.

Overall I'm very satisfied with this purchase!

These Roller Maze dolls are among the cutest in the Monster High collection. They all come with green streaks in their hear that adds quite a bit of color to their faces (with matching make up) and pink accents in the dresses.

Operetta in person is SO much better - what you can't see under the helmet is that she has two green/black 'racing stripes' on the side of her head that are so cute! She has matching green makeup as well. Her hair is in a geled ponytail with a curl in the back.

Unusual for Operetta dolls, her monocal is attached to her helmet. Also unusual is that the helmet is split to make room for the ponytail in the back. The helmet is decorated with her trademark musical notes.

Operetta comes with a halter type dress with records as a pattern and a pink polka dot accent down the front. She has Monster High logo shinguards and white boots with translucent wheels that really roll. The hell of her boot is a musical note and also webs.

The nice thing about this outfit is that it really shows off her tattoos.

In all, really pleased with the entire Roller Maze line!

My daughter has a HUGE Monster High collection....and this was a Christmas addition. She loves the dolls because they are unique and have personality, she loves them more than her Barbies, Disney Princess's, or Bratz dolls. She plays with these for hours and never gets bored. I like them because of their diversity and they are just fun, for her, and for her mom.

I ordered this for my 10 year old grand-daughter. I didn't ship it directly to her because I wanted to see the doll myself. I was a little disappointed in the size. Somehow I imagined it bigger, but the quality was nice and I liked the details on the doll.

This doll is very nicely styled and made, so as a collector I think it is great. However, since the hair and the accessories are pretty simple, I think this would be a good Monster High doll for young girls as well. I ordered from Amazon but everything arrived in excellent condition.

Operetta is one of 4 Roller Derby girls. The other 3 are Lagoona, Frankie and Ghoulia. Operetta's molded hair is the traditional red, but it has green and black streaks in it~ just as the other 3 RD dolls do... O has the original scarring and tattoos and cherry red lips. The pattern on her white dress is of records, keeping up with the 50's/music theme. She has a black helmet and knee pads. The helmet is easy to put on and take off~ it has little molded "buttons" on one side of the chin strap. It also has Operetta's little peep mask attached to it, as well as a raised music motif pattern. The knee pads have the trademark skullie wearing a helmet... these things are difficult to keep on the doll though. My daughter immediately lost one, even though we kept the clear packaging bands on them. The knee pads are merely cuffs and don't clip onto the doll tightly. I suggest keeping the bands on~ without them, you'll definitley lose the pads during play. If you are only displaying her, though, you wouldn't need the bands. (This knee pad issue is why only 4 stars for durability.)

The best part of the doll is that her white bobbysocked, high heeled roller skates actually have moving wheels. This fascinates both of my older girls, which makes these cheaper dolls some of their favorites. The wheels are green and pink, and the "soles" are purple. The doll comes with a green stand and a trading card. No pet or brush.
