Wholesome Family Halloween Flick
Verified purchase
Spielberg and Zemeckis Executive Producers, Dan Harmon of Rick and Morty screenplay. This is like Forest Gump & Back to the Future meet Goonies. Took me a long time to find a really good, feel-good Halloween flick other than Something Wicked This Way Comes. A movie theater experience at home: I had a bag of Act II Butter Popcorn and four Mickey chocolate ice cream bars things I reserve for cinema experiences - just like being there with such a satisfying visual journey. Too notch cast as well.

Great characters and a strong story behind the origins of the haunted house
Verified purchase
This is a really good kids’ animated tale about a haunted house. It does a good job setting up the prepubescent characters and their fear of the house across the street. Even the supporting characters like the baby sitter are well done. The best however is when the kids decide to go into the house. It turns out to be a really good story behind it. It reminds me of Stephen King’s It with the kids fighting a monster inside a house but of course toned down for a younger audience.

One of the best 3D films in existence
Verified purchase
This movie was by far one of the best 3-D films that I have ever seen done. It was full 3-D the entire way through and not just at certain moments. Although it is rated as a children’s movie it could easily satisfy any adults that are watching. It did a superb job at capturing the feel and vibe of the late 70s – early 80s. Everything from the characters design as well as their choice of words were absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the development of the story as well as the plot twists….. this is coming from a true horror genre fanatic. I’m surprised that this movie did not get as much advertisement as it should have. Buy this!…It’s an excellent addition to your collection…. It is to mine.

It's a animated movie, duh?.

No dislikes on this or most animated movies. Ever since I was a child I loved cartoons and in these day's with Pixar and others I just get as happy as I did every Saturday when Bugs & Friends would adorn the TV screen. I am now 61 and still 💛 watching animated movies.

Fun, not too frightening even for three year old

I liked that in the end there was explanation for the reason it was a monster House and the man in the house appeared mean. My grandchildren ages three and 10 years old both enjoyed it.
