Honestly got the digital version because I was too lazy to leave the house and had some money on amazon already. Fun game overall. Hours upon hours of content and still being supported. Lots of cool capcom references throughout. Played this one then the game that came out before it and there is a world(sorry) of difference. The UI and gameplay have both been heavily improved from past games. Recommended for newcomers to the series or for veteran players looking for a smoother experience and good online matchmaking.

I was looking for that game that's my end all for games. Destiny was that for awhile, destiny 2 severely disappointed me. I got this because a guy I was in a clan with told me to get it. It took me exactly 2 hours to fall in love with this game. Yes it has some quirks, but literally it is an amazing game to play solo or with friends! Fantastic buy, the controls are similar to dark souls or witcher so if you've never played those, you may struggle at first.

Not really my thing. It seems like a great game, with lots of details and I'm sure a great storyline with hours of gameplay. However, there are SO many different things to memorize, and it just doesn't come natural. There are > 20 weapons, and each weapon has its own special set of button combinations. If I spent hours studying the system, I'd figure it out and be able to play, but this isn't a learn as you go game, and I don't have the time or willpower to play it. That's a personal thing though. I spent hours and hours on AC Origins, but that battle system came naturally to me, and I know people who think that was complicated. Another thing that bugs me is that your playable character doesn't talk, but that's not the end of the world.
Overall it's highly customizable and the worldbuilding is phenomenal. The NPCs seemed fun and added some good humor to the game. The cat creatures were great! I think if you don't mind putting in the time to memorize the battle system, it will be an awesome game. And I don't regret buying it. If anything I learned that this style of game is not for me, but it was entertaining initially. I guarantee A LOT of people will enjoy this game and I think the reviews (which led me to buy it) speak for themselves. The nerd in me wants to continue to explore and learn about the world. But for the casual gamer, I'd really watch videos of the gameplay more before deciding whether or not you want to buy.

I’ve never player a Monster Hunter game before, but have wanted to for a while. The wait was worth it, Monster Hunter World is pretty good, I like just about everything in it, with the exception of multiplayer – it works fairly well except you have to go back to the lobby after every mission. Each mission is ends the multiplayer session and you’ll need to reinvite your friends to the next mission. I don’t hate it, but it does feel slow and really breaks the pacing of the game up. Other than that it’s fairly good, graphics looks unique and nice diff environments. Controls are pretty good, but you’ll need to learn some of the animations cancels otherwise you get locked into some actions. Monsters are fun to hunt and when you do manage to get some friends together it’s pretty good fun. A little UI tweaking and some streamlining to the game would make it exceptionally good. A solid 4/5 for me.

So disappointing! It's barely an RPG and is more like Destiny or even Overwatch (combat-wise), but it fails at both. The graphics are distracting and voices/subtitles don't match up. Add the clunky controls and I'm left incredibly disappointed. I bought it to play with a friend, so naturally they're having issues with parties, too. This has to be the most over-rated, underserving game I've ever seen. It really speaks to the good game drought when this is as hyped as it is.

Definitely not what I expected. Too cartoonish. A typical Capcom game (like japanimation). Reminds me of an Overwatch RPG (movement style). You battle dinosaurs and your sidekick is a cat, lol. I thought this was going to be more serious. Controls are funky. Voices don't match up. A few bugs. But an update could fix that. I wish I didn't waste my money on this.

This game is definitely worth purchasing because it is the first installment of the monster hunter series on console. The game is initially odd to get used to, but is very fun once you “master” it. Monster Hunter Word will keep you grinding for the perfect set of armor or the coolest weapon and having fun at the same time. Honestly I suggest watching a YouTube video review to get a better understanding of what to get out of this game.

Very fun game to play online with your friends! Lots of replay value, and hours available for this game! Not to mention(although) I am, the DLC for this game has been announced as being free!! There’s been 2 DLC’s announced so far. I definitely recommend if you’re into RPGS or slaying monsters and dinosaurs with your buddies!
