my son loves this game with the steering wheel. He's really into monster trucks right now so he thinks this game is the greatest thing ever. He's 4 years old. My husband is into this too. They play together for hours.

I bought this game for the kids to play but honestly I love it as well. Mainly we play freestyle on the easy mode just for the fun of smashing cars, getting big air, etc. Looks and feels very real. Any monster jam fan would love this. I am hoping they come out with a newer version though just for the sake of getting some of the newer trucks in trucks in there, adding some new venues, etc. The only drawback is I wish they had a free play/practice mode for freestyle in any of the venues not just minneapolis. My twin 3 y/o's the free play works best for them so it would be nice if they could free play in any stadium not just the one.

Love the game, can't wait for a new one, update, etc....

I'm not a hardcore monster truck or Monster Jam fan, but I do enjoy watching it on TV once in a while. The last monster truck game I played was Monster Truck Madness 64 for the Nintendo 64 which was decent, But this game definetly captures the simulation of driving a monster truck. It's a very fun game to play. The controls are fluid, though pulling off stunts is kind of difficult and takes practice, but you'll get it eventually. The game does have a tiny bit of lag when it shows slow-motion cut angles during certain stunts, but it's not that big of a deal nor is it a game breaker. The in-game voices of the drivers do get very repetitive and annoying at times. After every race, or stunt challenge, you'll hear the driver's voice comment you on how well or how poor you did. Even during the races and stunt challenges, you'll constantly hear the driver's voice blabbing, telling you to "Hurry up" or to "Finish the stunt". But all of that can be avoided by simply turning the in-game voice volume off in the options menu. That is pretty much the only gripe I have about the game. Other than that, It's a pretty solid game. If you're a fan of monster trucks or just want a game where you can pull off awesome stunts in a larger than life vehicle, definitely give this game a shot.

To put it simply, this game is a step toward what I (and a lot of people) have been craving for ages; a true monster truck simulation. I don't want my trucks to shoot rockets, I don't want my trucks flying 50 feet in the air, and I don't want my trucks doing 14 backflips in a shower of sparks while there's no noticeable damage afterward. I want them to handle like monster trucks, crush cars like monster trucks, and get destroyed like monster trucks.

I do not own this game, but I borrowed it from a friend as I've done the past few Monster Jam titles. I played it for a good while before deciding that it still isn't quite worth my money for what it is (at least not until it drops to a much lower price). I will continue to pass up buying them until they can make a game that's more sim-like. They don't have to remove the arcade features if they don't want to, but I at least want the option to have realistic physics and damage to the trucks and the things they're destroying.

It's a little sad that the best monster truck freestyle simulator to date is still Stuntman's stunt creator from all the way back in 2002, yet every subsequent Monster Jam game pumped out is the same as the one before it with updated graphics. This game is finally starting to move away from all that, and I like it. I know some people may not, but that's why I'd rather see 2 options of how you want the game to control; simulation-like or arcade-like. If they can successfully create a game that makes me feel like I'm actually driving a hulking metal monster truck and not a giant piece of plastic shaped like one, they'll have my money in their pocket on release day.

I bought this for my son and I to play together. While it looks great and does have its high points both of us had an incredibly hard time controlling the trucks. Hopefully if they do make another game they make the controls better.

overall, this game didn't impress me for paying $40. The story mode was alright but it was over way to quickly. The Truck customization was something I was hoping for since 2008 but it didn't have a lot of options. I was at least hoping for the ability to use letters.
Anyway, the game was fun for the most part, but I don't think it's worth the price.

Great game got it for my son. He already had it for his Nintendo Ds, and I wanted him to be able to play it on his ps3, because he loves the game and it was just a plus that it came with a steering wheel
