Top Customer Reviews
However, the CD was re-issued in 1993 with a different cover, on a different label (Hallmark). The good news is that it's a better mix, and you can actually HEAR Bobby "Boris" Pickett's voice! Unfortunately, what one hand giveth, the other taketh away - the original has 16 tracks, the "good" one only has 12.
For some reason Amazon seems to lump reviews of different editions together, which makes for some confusion in making sure you're getting the one you want. The original, the one with the poorly mixed vocals, has a cover showing a cartoony Frankenstein holding sheet music for three musicians who are performing in a graveyard. There's a photo of Pickett in the corner, and "Monster Mash" is in white letters. The product link for this version is here: The Original Monster Mash.
The "good" version - the one I purchased, with the better mixed vocals - has a drawing of a vampire above a grave. "Monster Mash" is in red letters, and "Original Recording" is in a box in the lower left corner. The product link for this version is here: The Original Monster Mash.
Whichever one you choose, just make sure you're adding the right one (the "right" one being the one you want) to your cart before you make that commitment to buy.
