For those of you who don't know, I'm currently in lawenforcement working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've been in law enforcementfor 17 years and I've worked as a Probation Officer, Corrections Officer, CourtInvestigator, Deputy Sheriff, Narcotics/Homicide detective, task force agent,and in an undercover capacity. I utilized the above experience to collect thedata, police reports, statements, and other pieces of information necessary towrite this true crime book. I make every effort to locate players involved inthe cases I write about, but sometimes many of them are deceased as the casesoccurred long ago. My main goal- which has always been the case- is to providethe victims of these serial killer cases a voice. They were people who did notdeserve the demise they unjustly met.

True crime Author C.L. Swinney did an excellent job researching and writing this book about serial killer Peter Kurten. This was a real page turner and I highly recommend to all book to all true crime fans. I have to admit that I was shocked at some of the things I read as I thought I had heard it all.

Most of the serial killers that I read about are from the United States and from the 1970's to present day. In this book you get a look at a 'monster' from Germany that started his rein of terror in 1913 by killing his 1st victim, a 10yr old girl. Peter Kürten didn't have a preferred type like we see in most serial killers, so nobody was safe! Swinney also gives us some information about Kürtens' formative years which helps explain (but not excuse) how someone can be so demented!
This book is a quick read. Its also well written and researched.

Chris did an excellent job on this book. This book absolutely scared the daylights out of me but i couldnt put it down. This man was truly an evil monster. I was astonished on how he reacted when he was tried for the murders. Not one ounce of remorse in his sick sick twisted body of his. I have read a lot of serial killer books but this one sent shivers down my spine.

This was one sick dude. Apparently he drank blood from animals and some of his victims?!?!?!? That's disgusting. I've read a few of this author's books and this one doesn't disappoint. I'd definetely recommend this book to crime readers.

O.M.G this book had me so very much in its grasp. I was a mess of changing emotions. As the story moved from one emotiom to another i felt as though the author played with my inner most feelings. Somehow i was toyed with as a dog plays with a mouse at its enjoyable mercy. This book had me hooked till the last page and i created ways in which to make my life fit for more reading. I recommend this very engaging book for all nonfiction. Lovers. ers.
