Make-believe, adventure, and storytelling - for the whole family! Explore Dragonsnot Falls, Castle Karaoke, Muttropolis, or the Dark Park and use your character’s special skills, companions, and equipment to overcome obstacles (like fighting a barbaric yawp, winning over Middlin, the Medium Bad Wolf, or beating a dinomatron at a race) as you solve mysteries, confront bad guys, and finish your adventure! Scalable rules adapt easily to the abilities and interests of kids from five on up, so everyone can play together. How will your adventure play out? Your options are limited only by your creativity - it’s all up to you!

From the manufacturer

The Award-Winning Game of Make-Believe for Creative Kids and Their Families

Enter the land of Storia to go on wild adventures of the imagination!

Evil Doesn't Stand a Chance

No Thank You, Evil! is a game of creative make-believe, adventure, and storytelling. Make your character based on fun descriptive traits, then set off on adventure. Use character abilities and imagination to overcome obstacles and tell your story.

Whereas conventional games constrain players’ actions, No Thank You, Evil! sets kids’ imaginations free with options limited only by their creativity. The players and Guide create a story as they work together to make their way through the adventure!

Adventurous Fun for All Ages

Game rules are easy to grasp for novice or young players, but nuanced and flexible enough for older kids and grown-ups. Kids as young as five can play simpler characters, while older kids get more sophisticated options—but they all play together!

Enter Storia: The Land Next Door

Explore a land of dragons and dinosaurs, faeries and elves, race cars and robots—and save the day!

Meet Some No Thank You, Evil! Characters

Olivia is a Princess

Younger kids frustrate easily when a game is too complex for them to master. No Thank You, Evil! lets younger kids play simple but engaging characters. And every character has a fun companion, like a flying octopus, fast car, or even a tiny T. Rex.

Rowan is a Cool Robot

A slightly older kid, or a younger player with a bit of experience, can play a more sophisticated character with more interesting game options. But all these characters can play together, at the same time in the same game.

Jody is a Super Smart Wizard Who Experiments with Science

An older or more experienced kid can play a character with even more options. Super Smart and Experiments with Science give the character more complex and interesting abilities. And kids of all ages love the whimsical setting and adventures!

The intro guide and rules get a bit repetitive. Game is all dependent on getting your players engaged. Always ask them how they would react to an event, or how do their characters feel.
There are included adventures to run of you're new role playing games. Otherwise if you've ever GM'd then it's really nice not to get tied up and deep rules and options.

My son and I are having a blast with this. He has an amazing imagination. We had been playing Amazing Tales and still enjoy that game but NTYE comes with a lot more substance (i.e. Visuals I don't need to draw, premade adventures, great character sheets for different levels of players) that makes it super easy for me to just pull out the box and get to playing with less than 5 minutes of prep time. I really enjoy playing as the guide for my son. Amazing Tales is AWESOME but I found myself continually exhausted after sessions trying to keep up with the mind and enthusiasm of my son's amazing imagination--especially after a long day of work. NTYE provides me with a bit less mental gymnastics with the premade adventures and is incredibly easy to create new adventures using the available materials!

This is literally everything I was hoping for when I ordered it.

I've played Amazing Tales and NTYE with my son. I've also created mini Starfinder adventures (that are age appropriate and focus on solving problems without violence) that use a hybrid FATE CORE system ruleset/FATE dice. I own Little Wizards but found that to be too advanced for a 4 year old--will panky need to wait a year or two to try out that system.

All that to say I've tried a lot with my son and if you're on the fence about any of the above options NTYE has been what's worked best for him and I.

    Highly recommend!

I'm reading the rulebook now. This seems like a very good take on a TTRPG designed to be accessible for kids.

The box was heavier than I expected. The components are beautiful. But after waiting a long time for the physical product to be in stock here instead of just buying a digital copy, I was disappointed to see that many pages in the rulebook have weird wrinkles in them and one of the punch-out tokens is missing from my box. If I understand the character templates correctly, it won't affect gameplay for me - I don't think my kids and I will ever need to use all the tokens at once. But still, quality control should have caught this.

    Sacred Bovine. This is fantastic!!!!

I've been playing Numenera using the Cypher System from Monte Cook Games for 2 or more years. I very-much enjoy the game play system. I have 3 kids - 12, 9, 6. Each at a different level of game playability, so Dungeons & Dragons hasn't really been a good fit.

I've waited for a whole year to get No Thank You, Evil!!!!!!!!

I am NOT disappointed. Monte Cook Games packed a lot of awesome into this box set, including a 3-part campaign/story to get you started if you're not sure where to begin!

There are 3 types of character sheets - Beginner, Intermediate and Master! Fine... not Master, but the types are as follows:

Beginner: My character is a Noun.
Intermediate: My character is an Adjective Noun.
More skilled: My character is an Adjective Noun who Verbs.

So.... I'm doing a My Little Pony adventure. Starting w/ the 3 core stories and then branching off from there.

One of the characters is a Scientist Pony (Pegasus) who Mixes Chemicals.

Each player gets a Companion. In this instance, a floating tiny turtle. The game rules show you some core companion types and you can use them, or make your own, and use similar stats.

I'm so excited to begin play. The rule book is a very easy to understand version of the Cypher System. I am completely sure a 4 year old could learn this game, while playing with a 12 year old.

    Thanks!

I bought this to introduce my niece and nephew to role playing games. My niece has basically been doing them on her own as she would play with people and make up stories about their characters and adventures, so having it be a thing was very validating to her. Having it codified to some degree with the sheets and tokens is great. They love the coins and using them to buy new gear.

My niece just turned 6 and my nephew just turned 9. They both love it and we've bought the expansions as well. They love the dance party breaks, and we've often run adventures moving from room to room in our house which added a little something extra.

The stories are built in such a way as to give you a lot of leeway as to how in depth with the rules you want to go, which is handy for younger kids.

The only negatives are that it's a little pricey and you only get 4 pre-built adventures and not really enough tokens for more than maybe 3 players (coins especially). If you get it, make copies of the play sheets before you use them, you'll run out otherwise.

Despite the price and limited tokens and playsheets, I highly recommend this.

I played this game with my 6 and 4 year old sons. They love it. They love making their characters, picking their sidekick, and making decisions in the game. I ran two of the missions, which is new for me, and I had so much fun. The GM will need to do some planning and maybe even some note taking before jumping into the missions, but that makes the stories just that much better when it comes to "show time". I look forward to doing more missions with my kids, and I might share this with my middle school table top club this school year. I give it five stars for ease of use, quality of materials, and entertainment value. Just remember, this isn't a game you can just pick up and play easily. Get the expansion to get more use out of the world in the game.

Just played this for the first time with kids ages 5/4/2.5. It was good for two solid hours of entertainment between character creation and playing the intro adventure. I was not a fan of the cost ($50) but it is absolutely going to be worth it... Even my youngest pretended she was "Boss Baby" for the whole adventure and made a general amount of mischief in the game instead of real life for a pleasant change. Seems like it will encourage cooperation and creativity for everyone in the family!
