Kerstin radiates light ... a beautiful (inside and out) woman of God who personifies joy, positivity, love, and strength. From the moment we met, we connected instantly on family, motherhood, work, and most of all, Jesus. Her story is a powerful testament to the fact that no matter how hard life gets, faith and your belief in God can take you anywhere. She is a true inspiration and her wisdom, experience, faith, and grace will lift you up and give you hope! I am honored and blessed to call this woman my friend! --Mally Roncal, Celebrity Makeup Artist & Author
As is made clear by Kerstin's beautifully raw and inspiring recount of her journey to becoming a parent: motherhood begins not only in the womb, but also in the heart. Being a child of adoption, I know how easily I could've been just a problem someone erased, and because of that I thank my birth mother every day for choosing to give me the opportunity of life. However, I am also eternally grateful that my adoptive parents found me and shaped me into the man I am today.
Finding my birth mother in 1998 really brought my life full circle, not only for me but also for my adoptive parents. Life truly is a blessing, and I know from personal experience that my love for my adoptive mother was as real and as deep as anyone could love a mother, adoptive or not.
Grace and Georgia are lucky to have a mother who fought so hard and so long for them before they were even born, and I know that as much as these beautiful girls were a gift from God to Kerstin, she is also a gift to them. --Chaz Dean
Sorrow might be the greatest learning tool God graciously allows into our lives. Should we choose to feel its power, sit in its pain and take its lesson, we will find rest from lives lived solely to please ourselves. We learn to take on the greatest work of our lives, putting ourselves on the line for others. Kerstin Lindquist has learned well ... in these pages you will find rest. --J.R. Mahon, Spiritual Director, Pastor/Creator of Your Life s Work
About the Author
Kerstin Lindquist is an award-winning broadcast news journalist and host at the leading home shopping channel, QVC. She started her career in network news working for local affiliates of NBC, Fox, and ABC. Kerstin was awarded four Emmys for her reporting including, most notably, one for a series of previously unauthorized interviews with young military men stationed in Guantanamo Bay.When her children were born in 2009, Kerstin started to write a blog as the first local news anchor in San Diego to request double maternity leave. Her weekly accounts documenting her experiences as a first-time mother to two non-biological daughters of the same age allowed her to continue to connect to her viewers while off the air. The confessional nature of her writing and the intensely personal stories she shared resonated deeply with her fans, and the blog quickly became the first successful employee-created account on the station’s website. When she left broadcast news in 2011 to enter the word of national broadcast home shopping at QVC, Kerstin took her writing with her and found her new viewers even more eager to hear how she survived years of infertility and a difficult adoption. Kerstin can be seen four days a week on QVC and is the host of one of the top grossing shows on the network, airing Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stories about her children are a large part of her daily broadcasts.Kerstin and her husband live with their three children in Eastern Pennsylvania. They spend their free time in warm climates—preferably with sand.
