★★★★★ "The first book was free so I finally figured, what the hell? Best decision EVER!! This story is so unique and awesome!! By the second or third chapter, I was hooked. In fact, I'm leaving this review 4 days after finishing it because I went straight to book 2, then onto 3. I'm currently on the 3rd installment and it keeps getting better and better. I am now officially a huge fan of the Samantha Moon books and an even bigger JR Rain fan!! Well done sir!! I just can't stop reading. I'm absolutely in love with this series!! If you are like me, unsure about the whole vampire scene... do yourself a favor and read this!! You'll be glad you did!!" ―Amazon reviewer
★★★★★ "I was pleasantly surprised this vampire who-done-it held my interest through the entire story. Surprised because it was a very good who-done-it, and surprised because I don't usually read vampire stories. However, as so many others have said, this is not your normal vampire tale. I found the protagonist's learn-as-you-go approach to being a vampire refreshing. The evolution of her realization of being a vampire was interesting to watch develop." ―Amazon reviewer
★★★★★ "I am touched by the internal conflicts that Ms. Moon struggles with as she tries to help people around her. Haven't we all done that, though? She's a robust protagonist with many dimensions to her personality. I can relate to Ms. Moon even though I've never worked as a private eye or am not currently a vampire. I love the story. I look forward to more Samantha Moon. JR Rain is my favorite author. He has a depth and breath of storytelling I've not seen any where else with a number of different genre." ―Amazon reviewer
★★★★★ "I didn't expect to be so thrilled by this novel. It's a funny, entertaining page turner, whose witty main character, a desperate vampire housewife slash private detective, has the same quick repartee as Philip Marlowe. There's quite an unusual and satisfying mix at work here: Moon Dance is a detective novel, and there's a real investigation to follow. It's also a kind of tale involving an involuntary superhero (indeed, Sam was living a totally normal life with husband and children before being bitten and turned into a vampire). On top of all that, it looks like a personal diary giving a detailed account of Sam's everyday life, her troubles and successes. I loved all the cool passages when we're given a glimpse of her powers: how she can run fast for long stretches without getting tired, her physical strength as she can lift heavy loads effortlessly, the way she's locked inside her house or covered in sun screen if she must go out... This stuff has the look and feel of comics, which works for me. I found the point of view of a reluctant female vampire very refreshing and well done. Very original and never boring. Sink your teeth into that one." ―Amazon reviewer

"Impossible to put down! J.R. Rain's Moon Dance is a fabulous urban fantasy replete with multifarious and unusual characters, a perfectly synchronized plot, vibrant dialogue and sterling witticism all wrapped in a voice that is as beautiful as it is rich and vividly intense as it is relaxed.
Beautiful Samantha Moon, Moon Dance's darling star, is a fiercely devoted mother, a private investigator and no ordinary vampire. Infected six years ago, and dieting on nothing but blood, Samantha strives for normalcy, keeping her vampiric nature second to the safety and well being of her family but fears her etherealness might be driving her husband to warmer pastures. So what does a larger than life, butt kicking anywhere anytime sexy and sassy mouthed vampire need? Kingsley Fulcrum. Her scrumptiously hot new client, who hires Samantha to find the culprit responsible for his multiple gunshot wounds while masking a dark secret of his own. Yummy!
With an ensemble of unique secondary characters, a loyal sister, a hunky detective, a sweet vampire slayer, an online friend who's Samantha strong shoulder, add to that a medallion of special effects worn by her attacker and then sent to her and an unsuspecting and surprising twist make Moon Dance's multifaceted design sharp on details, impossible to put down and written with a smooth but gripping, entertaining and confident hand. I give Moon Dance ten delicious bites. You will too!"
