This is a terrible book. Half of it is the history of NASA and then pages about the astronaut bio's, and the author glossed over all the anomalies in the NASA photos and videos and the lack of science, and basically poo-poohed every non- believer, without any explanations or data. Garbage.

Read the first two pages then threw the book away. This guy claims to be a doctor and can't even form a correct sentence. Confirms what type of people believe this stuff. Swipe left!

I bought this as a gag gift for a friend of mine who's a serious NASA and space program enthusiast. We're talking about someone that, as a child, went to Space Camp and studied astronomy in college. The extent to which even the sight of this book infuriates that person was worth the money.
If you actually bother to read the contents of the book (which I suspect few do), it's full of typos and grammatical errors, and lots of information from questionable sources. But despite its title, the book comes to the conclusion that a moon landing occurred, as there is simply too much evidence that cannot be explained away by moon landing deniers.

Not real happy with this book. No idea where the author stands on the subject he wrote about. May be a good book for children

Book is entirely misleading pointing out specific undeniable facts, but then he reverts back to the NASA line front and back. Counter Intelligence written by a Monkey under the control of MK ULTRA!

This is pamphlet, not a book. Obvious and general info on conventional views. Despite the tittle this is not about hoax theories
Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2013Verified Purchase
This is really a pamphlet not a book. One third of it is spent with high-school level biographies on Apollo 11 astronauts and the most superficial and basic review on the Apollo missions (orthodox and accepted view) The author barely mentions the "anomalies" that are the basis for doubts and conspiracy ideas about the moon landings. This ideas should be the subject matter of the book !! but the anomalies are almost unmentioned. He never goes into any analysis, any description or even any reference to other authors that might have done just that. The narrative is all affirmative, like: "men landed on the moon on July the 20th" instead of expressing neutral standpoint by using "allegedly" or "according to conventional history". The author goest back and forwards in time. Says something about the surface of the Moon, then something about Kennedy then back to something that happend on the way to the Moon.
The real hoax is the tittle of this booklet. A 5 min. videoclip on Youtube can educate you much more on the controversies than reading this. As other reviewers mention there are 26 pages on "space travel glossary" which incidentally is the only interesting data on the book. But even the tittle is absurd... space travel..? Comes across like a school paper trying to be as fat as it can and occupy as many pages as possible, by writing complete names like "John F Kennedy" instead of JFK and "plus 200 Fahrenheit" instead of +200' F. The point is to fill as much space as possible. And still is only 90 pages long. This is ridiculous...

A book that asks some "valid" questions that I've thought about as to the proof or lack of proof of items. Such as why stars are not visible, why the astronauts appear to be pefectly lit up even whcn other items are in shadow, and why there are no blast impressions either from the landing or take off.

Author Steven Thomas states in this 2010 book, "Moon hoax advocates have brought up many intriguing points... Several lines of evidence point to an actual Moon landing. The 880 pounds of Moon rocks brought back to Earth are the most obvious evidence, as well as the testimonies of 12 astronauts. More than 30,000 photographs were brought back from the Apollo missions, as well as hours upon hours of video footage." (Pg. 33-34)
He adds, "Many hoax believers are well meaning people who have been duped into believing the hoax theories by what they perceive to be compelling evidence. There are other hoax advocates ... who publicly make claims based on erroneous conclusions resulting from a lack of proper research, scientific ignorance, or extreme prejudice." (Pg. 35)
After noting that "before the first manned Apollo flight even cleared the launch pad, a total of 11 would be astronauts were dead... this is a spectacular accident rate. One wonders if these 'accidents' weren't NASA's way of correcting mistakes, of saying that some of these men didn't have the sort of 'right stuff' they were looking for." (Pg. 49)
He suggests, "The main reason why the US Government and NASA faked the 'official record' is because they could not be seen to be the weak link... during the 60's, the USA were at the height of the Cold War with Russia... It would be better to try and fool the public and hoax the footage, rather than let their biggest rival in the World strike a huge moral victory by beating them to the Moon." (Pg. 62)
He concludes, "it is extremely difficult to conclude what really happened... The whole mission involved close to 40,000 people and it would be extremely difficult to keep every body quiet... But when we look at the situation and circumstances it evokes a question some where... if the government was capable to spend time and money to silence people then they could do the same even now... To survive such a hoax for over 30 years, without a single whistle blower would be an achievement on its own... The problem the hoax advocates face is ... most of the claims even though it makes sense it is circumstantial." (Pg. 88-89)
Kind of a confusing book; one wishes he would take a stronger position either way.

Stay clear away from this hoax!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 4, 2012Verified Purchase
Do yourself a favour and save your money. This book is by far the worst I've ever read on this "moon hoax" topic. Badly written with poor language by some "Dr" Steven Thomas it's very clear that this author is only in it for the money. Less than 100 pages of actual content (with another 30 totally useless "glossary") and dealing with everything and nothing but the alleged subject. The "Dr" is very shy of the hoax itself, dealing with this title selling topic very hastily in less than two(!) pages and never daring to deal with any arguments. The hoax is a hoax in itself, according to the "Dr". There are plenty of other books on this topic out there, I haven't read them all, but I'm sure none can be any worse than this. Stay clear away from this hoax!
