All I want lately is to see Jonathan Richman live so I can dance to the music on this CD. The drums, they sounded like Tommy had five hands and Jonathan's guitar and lyrics made me relish tap water and plain oatmeal. This CD will make you want to get off the couch and play outside when the night sky is clear and crisp. Some of my favorites songs are 'These bodies that came to cavort', 'I was the one she came for', and 'It was time for me to be with her'. I am sure you will find your favorites.

I read a review of this CD in which the author wanted the album to be longer. Not many songs are over 3 minutes. This did not bother me. Everyone wants more Jonathan Richman. I say be grateful for what you have. Go see him perform live, learn a foreign language, and love somebody. If you want to buy the CD great; if not, don't forget to dance and love.

here is another collection of well settled and cool songs by jonathan richman. free spirited, wild and beautiful, as we know his work.
'because her beauty is raw and wild' is already a masterpiece, but this one is even more enigmatic, thanks for this statement, for this outstanding music.

BORING. Not what I expected from Jonathan Richman. Acoustic and folksy, uninspired. It was bland. A couple of songs had a hint of the old (younger) Jonathan but still did nothing for me. I liked his "Jonathan goes County" album better, but that was more of a novelty than anything else.
I really like his earlier, rawer releases, with the Modern Lovers and "I Jonathan" come to mind.
This album, while capably done, offers a kinder, gentler Jonathan Richman. His voice, in this excursion, is smoother and more refined. The acoustic guitar is capably done. But it's not Jonathan, as I like him.
