Can an RTS Player Save the Universe?

A LitRPG adventure from Level Up.

It is 1999, in the last few months before Y2K. Alex, a sophomore in college at Ohio University, is failing his classes due to spending too much time playing Real Time Strategy (RTS) video games. Although he knows he should take a break from gaming soon, he also has to figure out his response to two new people in his life: Haley is a classmate who because she is a fellow gamer seems to understand him better than most of his friends, while the mysterious Que has sent the two of them an unreleased RPG/RTS - Moon Wars - with a challenge to beat the hybrid game.

Despite an initial aversion to the RPG aspect of the challenge, Moon Wars, Alex finds himself driven to skill up and master the tough challenges. The single-player campaign, consisting of conquering sufficient bases on the Moon to withstand an invasion from Earth, seems impossible. Not one to give up easily, Alex uses all his experience (and help from Haley) to strategize his way forward. Along the way, they stumble upon secrets buried inside the game.

I mostly enjoyed the book. The beginning is really good and hooked me in. Later on though, the author contradicts himself a lot and parts of the story don’t really make sense.

What ..? The game , and the free computer Excellent !! Spending time with the coolest female he's ever met..Awesome.!! Mind transference into the Game ..What The H@ll ? I am an Honest ARC Reviewer at first i wasn't even sure i would get beyond a few pages on my kindle. I soon couldn't put it down,Lots of action ,twists ,and turns And even though the annoying "stats" kind of had me skimming past the Story line , and World / Character Building more than made up for that. Fun book.

Mistakes: I can't really say as I skipped large chunks of this book.

Plot: It was a good idea, but poorly executed. I started getting bored when they started skipping lvls in the moon base.

Characters: Interaction between characters was childish and didn't feel realistic

This story is a very very thin storyline. The plot armor is super thick the MC makes choices that don't make any sense it's got almost no world building whatsoever character development is not good and it just jumps around a lot. I made it about a third of a through and then I'm just throwing in the towel because it's just not interesting. Another fail space lit RPG.

This a great new entry from a great author. Lots of action and a fun way to blend LitRPG and RTS into one book. It brought back memories of the early games of Warcraft 1 and Command and Conquer. I love that the author decided to do something other than the traditional fantasy setting with this one.

Very good storyline and incredible detail in the gaming strategy. The characters were easy to like and admire. A good emotional character base was made and believably built upon. I would definitely recommend others to read and play!

Firstly this book made me dig out age of empires II, it still Dosent disappoint, as for the story, I loved it. Not wanting to give to much away, I loved the concept, and would definitely recommend it to LitRPG a holics. Plenty of stats without ever feeling over burdened by them.
