This think is all but junk. Bought it for 2010 Grand Cherokee and what a joke. I read other reviews saying how people were trying their best not to break the tab off and still did, and I laughed in my head. Well needless to say I broke the tab off. So let's start there.... the tab is so tiny I can't believe anyone with any brains thought it'd ever do anything, that person should be fired and so should their boss for his lack of oversight. It would say the tab is about 1/4 the size the tab that is on the screen that comes on the vehicle(which this part is supposed to replace). Even had the tab worked, you can tell this was a cheap attempt by mopar to not have to design a new part as I would say this was probably originally made for the older grand Cherokee. The housing barely covers the opening of the air duct. So let's say you made it to this point, and you managed to get it attached without breaking it, and you manage to position it perfectly so as to create a good deal around the duct, and the crap attachment manage to hold that part in that position keeping that seal, if all of that has went your way guess what, Jeep has about a dozen other quarter sized holes all along the piece of metal frame which actually allows air to bypass the filter all together! I am sure the majority of it comes through the filter, but is definitely not going to be anywhere close to a sealed intake, thus still won't be a clean filtered air environment. Just insane anyone got paid to design this.
Now if your a perfectionist like myself and are determined to have a cabin filter that is actually airtight you can make it happen with some hassle and a few hours of time. I drilled 1, 1/4 hole on the far end and used on the the existing frame holes to mount it tight using a rivet. Also used rivets on the inside. Used the plastic ones so they can be broken easier if I need to for some reason. Then I went around the filter housing with silicone and made some plugs to plug all the other holes so now the only option for the air is to go through the filter.
In short, if you're not prepared to put in some effort, this is a waste of money as your still going to bring in unfiltered air.
