The More Birds Vintage Hummingbird feeder with its beautiful burnt penny finish and aqua-tinted antique glass design give it a vintage feel that adds a splash of bygone beauty to your backyard. The Vintage hummingbird feeder features a glass nectar bottle and durable metal basin cap with five integrated perch stations and red flower feeding ports to attract more hummingbirds. With a 20 ounce nectar capacity, the Vintage provides plenty of nectar to keep hummingbirds happy and coming back for more! Its wide bottle opening and detachable flat base make filling easy and cleaning a breeze. When cleaning your hummingbird feeder, do not put your feeder in the dishwasher, as the high temperatures can permanently damage the feeder parts. Most expert sources discourage dishwashing because it may not fully disinfect any avian diseases. Additionally, dishwashers could strip the paint off painted glass components or ruin the finish on metal components and it voids the warranty.

It's easy to clean, but you do have to wait until it's completely empty to fill it (because you turn it upside down and unscrew it)
I can now attest that the bottoms are a bit fragile, but with a little careful handling I do not think it is a major issue. I broke the bottom off one of the feeders but it was my own fault as I dropped it a short distance in the sink while cleaning it. I do think it should have held up better but knowing that they are fragile I should have handled them more carefully.
However, I love the looks of them and I get so many hummers now between the two feeders I have left that I just ordered two more. I'm still giving them 5 stars but due to the fragility of the bottoms I would lower my rating slightly to 4.5 stars. Having said that, I still highly recommend them.
In the very top of the glass feeder body, on the inside of where the wire hanger sits, there is a hollow "lip" to create the shape necessary to hold the wire in place on the feeder. This is a design flaw, because unless you are incredibly careful when cleaning this feeder (and this part of the feeder is not easy to clean, believe me, even with a good bottle brush) this area will begin to grow mold because of the humidity inside the bottle. Heat from a warm day only speeds the growth of mold. Even when changing the nectar every day or two and cleaning it as well as I could between each nectar change, I could not keep up with the mold growth inside the very top of the bottle.
When you fill the bottle, you have to pour the fresh nectar inside before you screw on the feeding platform and then invert the bottle, which means if there is the slightest bit of mold that you missed while cleaning, the nectar comes into contact with it and makes it potentially unhealthy for the hummingbirds. It also makes the nectar go bad faster.
As pretty and solid as this feeder is, it's not worth the risk of making the hummingbirds sick. Unfortunately this is going to have to be replaced by something with no interior areas that are in any way very difficult to sanitize. If you are a crafty person, I suppose you could try filling this interior "lip" area with a food-safe epoxy resin (if I can find one) and fill in that problem area. I may give that a go when I have the time. But for now, this bottle will be replaced with a much safer one for the birds to drink from.

This feed has super large capacity that I don't know if I'll ever have my little hummers go through. Time will tell as it is I change the fluid every three days as recommended and I only ever make a cup at a time which I split between this and another feeder I bought at the same time. They have never even come close to drinking all of it but it's still early spring and maybe that will change once the migratory hummers get here.
The glass jar has a wide mouth so it super easy to fill and clean
The lid for the base is very sturdy cast metal that won't dent. Powder coated in a beautiful burnt penny colour.
The red flowers are made from metal as well and are riveted to the lid
The base is made from plastic and has few crannies but is easily cleaned.
It has large threads that match up nicely with the jar with no problems.
Doesn't leak, but don't tip it too much once it is flipped right way around or the nectar will spill then. You have to try pretty hard to do this. It's been out in some really heavy spring storms with no problems or measurable loss of nectar.
Only possible downside to this one will be if bees and wasps find it because unlike the Humzinger it does not have a way to attach nectar guards. But it also doesn't have yellow flower centre's which are what supposedly attract them in the first place so we'll see. It is so pretty that even if it does attract some bees I'll just move it around the yard. I read that bees and wasp go back to the exact same place for food, but hummers are visual hunters and will look around if a know food source has gone. So far this is true as I have moved the two feeders I have trying to find locations where I can see them easily.
Highly recommend this feeder!
Quería comprar varios comederos de este modelo pero que bueno que solamente pedí uno para probarlo.
En lo personal después de este problema es un artículo que no lo recomiendo.
