This is one of the best books I own, hands down! I work at a Library and have an extensive home library but this book gets used more often than anything else. It is well organized, alphabetically, and outlines the many uses for everyday household things. For instance, there is a whole section on what you can do with Vinegar, a whole section on pepper, and so forth. Did you know that if you put pepper on a fresh cut, it will stop the bleeding immediately? If you become the proud owner of this book, you will. And you will know many more useful facts that you can share - you and your friends will be amazed :)

I've purchased many, many books of this type, but this is the newest and best by far. I thought I had read most of the hints and tips published, but I found a whole new collection in this book. The layout and sections are easy to read, and you can find what you are looking for quickly. Well worth the money!

Great book. Actually, I wasn't even looking for a book of this kind but came across it by chance. This book has so many useful ideas..... Is it not even about saving money, more about ideas to solve everyday problems and being able to do it without having to use harmful chemicals. I would advise it to everybody. The only thing I didn't like is the quality of the cover. I am just finishing reading it and the cover is already looking rather worn out. Just imagine after I have looked into it a lot of times looking for more solutions? It will probably desintegrate. Other than that.... if you have a house, a garden, kids, a garage, do DIY, cook, have health problems, want some beauty tips or anything else you are sure to find solutions in here! Well worth the money, I would say...... I wonder whether it's siter book "Extraordinary uses for ordinary things" brings a bit the same tips or completely different ones because in that case I might just buy that one too. The title of this one is More...... so it might mean that the other one has completely different ideas but you never know, I might just end up with two books that are more or less the same. If someone has the answer maybe they would like to pass it on to me...... The other one is two years older.

I bought this for a farmer couple who I know and who was about to travel 2,000 miles by car. I thought it might be something a passenger could peruse and perhaps it would prompt discussions. They said they enjoyed the book very much, it helped kill the boredom of lengthy car travel. So I bought both volumes myself. It's full of fun and useful ideas.

This book contains many very practical ways to economize when it comes to running a household. It has many ideas that are certainly new to me and very innovative. Containing everything from home remedies for minor ills to home repairs made easy, it is very comprehensive and contains 1,715 ingenious uses for everyday items.

I never knew that you could make candlelesticks shiny with ketchup off your kitchen shelf as opposed to buying expensive polishes, or that ordinary vinegar could be used for so many household cleaning jobs. It never occured to me that I could use an empty egg carton to organize my drawers. There are also sections on car care, travel tips, health and beauty tips, managing clutter, and cooking shortcuts.

This is a guide that no home should be without. It was definitely worth the time it took to read the book and I shall be trying out many of the remedies. -- Valerie Lull, Author, Ten Healthy Teas

This is a great book and is loaded with useful information. I originally borrowed a copy from our local library and really enjoyed it. So as I usually do when I find a good book, I went to Amazon and searched for a used copy. I found one for 99 cents plus shipping. The book came in a few days and even though it was sold as used, it looked brand new. I read parts of the book all the time to get some ideas for uses of everyday things instead of paying a premium for some special brand that do the same thing. This book indeed can same you some money. Get one and start using it.

We are enjoying all the ideas. It made a great Christmas present from us to friends and many in the family. It has a "companion volume" which we have and sent on to others-also enjoyable, clever and informative.

This book is really quite useless. The suggestions are often comical. For example, how many people would use vodka in place of windshield wiper fluid? Many of the solutions are significantly more costly and inconvenient. I have a couple of other books like this (e.g. dummy's guides) that have much more valuable information.
