From the Back Cover
There is more to death than simply ceasing to live. In Glimpses of Heaven, retired hospice nurse Trudy Harris offered an intimate look at the final days and moments of terminally ill and dying people. Now she shares more of her stories and also stories from other medical and hospice professionals, allowing the veil to be drawn back on God's handiwork, while we are both living and dying.
If you have lost a loved one, are facing a terminal illness, or are simply curious about what happens when we pass from life to death, More Glimpses of Heaven offers you an even deeper insight into God's plan for our lives every day.
"Trudy Harris has done a masterful job of presenting stories of experiences with the end of life that illustrate the fact that just as there is a divine plan for our entry into this world, God has planned for our exit. Her work has enabled others to see that the end of our lives can be a time of reconciliation, peace, and satisfaction."--Susan Ponder-Stansel, president and CEO, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Inc., Jacksonville, Florida
"I only wish I had read Glimpses of Heaven and now More Glimpses of Heaven early in my training as a physician. I think most physicians are unaware that these incredible and beautiful experiences are taking place in our patients' lives after they walk out of our office for the last time. The awareness that such experiences were happening would have enhanced my ability to provide more reassurance and spiritual comfort to my patients."--Kelley Ann Trent, MD, medical oncologist
"A remarkable collection of inspiring stories. Hope, love, comfort, and peace fill each page. I hope people everywhere will have the opportunity to read this book."--John W. Logue, director, Spirituality Center, St. Vincent's Spirituality Center, Jacksonville, Florida
"These stories have the power to touch and move us, to deepen our most cherished values of love, care, and compassion, and to strengthen the spiritual anchor of our lives."--Paul Brenner, MDiv; CEO of hospice programs in Florida, Maryland, and New York City; consultant for the Healing Project, San Francisco
Trudy Harris, RN, is the New York Times bestselling author of Glimpses of Heaven and More Glimpses of Heaven, a former hospice nurse, and former president of the Hospice Foundation for Caring. Since retirement, Harris remains active in connecting the needs of terminally ill and dying people in her community with the hospice program she knows can best meet their needs.

Whereas, this is a faith-based book it does not focus on any one religion, it instead tells of all the different ways that God brings an individual into his kingdom and the fact that it is different for every soul. Therefore, as each person is different so is their relationship with the Lord and as they are getting ready to pass on to the next phase of our souls journey a lot of individuals have something that is holding them back from passing and this is when Trudy comes into play by figuring out what will help this dying person let go. Children are so special since they are not afraid of dying, they sometimes are more worried about how their parents will handle their death. There are people who have something that is not quite right in the life they are to leave behind or with their relationship with God and with the help of a hospice professional or Trudy herself they help the sick individual get to the place where they can let go of this world. I must mention that the dying tells us such amazing things about heaven such as what they see or who they see. After you read this book you will no longer be afraid of death plus remember heaven is all around us.
“I will never forsake you or abandon you” (Heb. 13:5)
This book is not about process of dying and duties of a hospice nurse but the spiritual journey of the dying and their families from a Christian perspective. I think the dying experience affects the nurse just as much as the patient and family and Trudy Harris makes that aspect crystal clear. Being a nurse myself, I have been with the dying and it is a humbling experience. Depending on the circumstances, it is emotional, it is sad, sometimes frightening because of the anger that some families express but it can also be joyful. I think Ms. Harris does a very good job of portraying the joy and peace that can be had by all involved in her narrative. I liked this book well enough that if there is ever another, I'll be first in line to purchase it.

The author has written an account of her experience working in a hospice from the patients and their famalies, doctors and nurses giving medical assistance and the volunteers who spend so much of their time holding hands and chatting to the patients. This is a beutifully written book that shows us what happens in these hospices.
The reason i only give this book a 3 star is although a lovely and maybe comforting book to some i personaly could only read half of it as i found myself tearing up all the time and i became so sad and depressed. After going back a few times i decided that i would leave it and maybe some time in the future i'll pick it up again.
Its a book that is easy to read as a chapter a day, it isn't as heavy as the reader might worry it could be. It is snapshots into the daily lives of people facing the end of their lives with hope and in peace.
