As to the Compendium, I thought it was fantastic! 38 issues, of twists and turns, with interesting characters and character development. Most people have referred to this as the Runaways meets lost, which I think is perfect. Ordinarily I don't recommend as a comic fan starting with a compendium, as you should start with a taste and move on. However, this series is so complex and involved, reading them all in a single sitting of 38 issues is actually a great way to start. I loved it and can't wait for it to continue.
Physically - my fear of having a bound book this thick came true and pages came loose and begin to fall out about 3/4 of the way through even though I had anticipated this and had tried to be careful and never open the book all the way.
