Years ago, a great war between realms brought the universe to the brink of destruction. In their most desperate hour, Earthrealm's champions rallied in strength and spirit-saving their world from the forces of evil. In the years that followed, there existed a peace between realms for the first time since the Mortal Kombat tournaments began. But peace did not last for long...

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Report
The story is literally all over the place. With no specific time period given, it is a little tough to understand if you know the complete story of the franchise over the last 20 years. The comic obviously doesn't take place after the events of the last game as Scorpion is in the Netherrealm with Quan Chi AND his entire clan is dead- however in the comic his clan is alive and thriving. There are also other inconsistencies such as a young character being present at the death of another (a MK fighter) then being shown older a few pages later. These will only seem a big deal to huge MK fans. Other than that, this tells a fantastic and gruesome story.

Ok so I've been following Mortal Kombat ever since it debuted in the arcades so to have a graphic novel on my newly purchased Kindle Fire HDX is pretty awesome to say the least. I bought all 7 of them but I've only read through this one so far and I think they did a great job on it. The artwork is pretty detailed, the story is cool and it has everything to do with the Mortal Kombat world. I mean really, what's not to like about this?

I was excited to hear of the new comic...and i know this is "new" story...but this was not what i expected...i am kind of disappointed with this 1st issue to be honest...especially with how it starts out...though the art work is quite lovely...and i love the fatality :)

I really enjoyed the art style of this series and I plan to read more of it. My biggest issues with the the format is that they brake it up in to chapters instead of complete issues like physical comics. It's sort of jarring

As a lifelong Mortal Kombat fan, I was excited to see there was a comic book leading up to the next game. From what this comic previews, it looks like a lot of what we know about the series' sorry will be changing.

Been a big Mortal Kombat fan since MK1 for Sega, and this is interesting to be able to have the characters in comic form. Very anxious for the new game and find that this will be a great way to help make the wait less painful. Can't wait to see where the comic leads!

It is pretty good and I thought it would suck but it didn't so I got to get the next one and keep collecting them I just hope it stays at this price and can't wait to get the game that's going to be bad ass. And please don't let the story get stale .

Graphics are very cool and the kindle viewer works great. 1 note of caution: THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS! Very violent just like the game (good for adults, bad for kids). I can't wait to finish the series and look forward to each weeks issue.
