Then the story makes a swift change, that made you want to moan, "Man, now what?"The swift change occurred n the Prologue itself, as the thief decided not to deliver the original manuscript to the person who hired him, but to someone else entirely.
The reader of Mortal Threat is presented with a hasty message on a scan document: "In the beginning there was a Catalyst, which produced life. This Catalyst was god who created the earth and the stars and water and fire and life. There's is a beginning, a middle, and an end...The black footprints are timeless."
As the theft of the manuscript was completed, a United States president took his new oath of office. With that oath, the president of a free world gave a few words, " And I say to all of you that today we march on toward a better destiny. Our footprints are timeless. Thank you and God Bless America." Obviously there's a connection, and it is an alarming one. Not only for the nation, but for the entire world.
Across the African landscape the main character, Amanda Garrett, a medical doctor, runs for her life with what could be the cure for HIV and the Ebola virus, all the while she is pursued by a Leopard with a rifle, a Cheetah with an extremely high IQ, and a media mogul who happens to be the leader of the Islamic State, the caliphate.
The problem is bigger than you think. The leader of the Islamic State wants what Amanda is carrying, only to manipulate public opinion on Islam, and in doing so support Islamic radical groups who's goal is to take over the world, and to plant their flag everywhere in the world, including the United States. The newly elected U.S. President is playing right into the Leader's hand. To make things even more complicated for Amanda, and for the nation, the newly elected believes that the stolen Book of Catalyst identifies him as being of divine origin and the savior of the world.
This is my first time reading A.J. Tata, and because of him I can't seem to get anything done around the place. The novel Moral Threat, which is ripped from today's terrifying headlines, is hard to put down. It takes off like a prized cutting horse, and keeps the swift movement going from front cover to back cover. The novel alarms me as much as it fascinates me. Will Amanda survived long enough to deliver the cure of HIV and Ebola to a world who's in desperate need for it. Will our nation be saved from the radicals who are out to destroy it? That remains to be seen. Some say "Good wins," ---while others say, "Good wins...sometimes." ----T. Graham
Amanda, working in a remote village in Tanzania succeeds in saving several persons from HIV and Ebola. Her work is under a secret project of the US government. Several forces get involved in either taking the formulations away from her or destroying the formulation. But that is only one part of this incredible novel, Other plots include the ISIS trying to become a world power, throwing in theories questioning the origin of mankind and so on.
This is one book which is full of surprises and certainly not for the weak hearted
