Been listening to 311 since the 1990's, seen them tons of times, and have all their albums. When you love a band and follow them for 20 years you change and they change...they go thru life as you do. I felt they lost some steam after "From Chaos", but listening to this album completely renewed my faith in this band. It literally brought tears to my eyes...I could feel it resonate with my soul and that's priceless. It brought me back to being 19 full of life and wonder. If you have ever been a 311 fan...this album will not disappoint. The rock, rap, ballads, and dreaming styles from all their previous albums bakes up something inspiring on Mosaic.

I've been listening to 311 since I was in middle school - I'm now in my early 30s and this album reminds me of the greatness of their early days mixed with the maturity that years playing music brings. It's old school 311 with a glossy newness. Their last 3 albums have been good, but lacked something. This one is greatness, plain and simple! 311 is back at the top of their game, and this album is my new favorite, and could very well be the best they've ever done. Do yourself a favor and buy it - you won't regret it!

5 Stars if you just skip all the songs written by people outside of 311. Except "Too Much to Think", that's a great track.

'Til the City's on Fire - .1/10 - If it was Shakira featuring Nick Hexum, sure, fine, whatever.

Places that the Mind Goes - Adele "Send My Love (To Your New Lover) / 10

Perfect Mistake - 3/10

These songs veer a little too close to the Bob Rock era stuff, and I can't help but think it's mostly due to the outside writers.

I listened to the album without these songs, and it's great. Different, even for 311, and has more depth to the arrangement and production than probably anything else they've done. Energetic, uplifting, tons of color, tons of flavor, tons of heart. "Wildfire" is incredible, awesome blend of almost classical music progressions with psychedelia, punk and reggae. "Forever Now" is pure 311, instant classic like "First Dimension" or "Existential Hero" from Stereolithic.

I have nothing but love for 311, but we trust you guys 100%. Leave the Goldfinger dude and whoever Zakk Cervini and Matthew Pauling are to produce some weird Sum 41/Katy Perry collaboration album. You got this.

4/5 with collaboration songs, 5/5 without.

With every passing album I get nervous that this will be the normal fall-off all artists come to realize at some point. But again, I am blown away that this album hasn't lost a step! In fact, discerning listeners will see just how good each band member has become as an artist. I don't think it's an understatement to say that this album - with 17 tracks - leaves you wanting MORE after the final song plays. I can't explain it in words, but listen to it while having a party and you just might find yourself playing it beginning to end, over and over, again and again. It's that good. It has everything ALL 311 fans looks for in an album, including some funky fresh groundbreaking stuff too. This is a complete masterpiece and is a must-have album for any lover of this type of music.

This is an album with mostly hits, and a few misses. The fact that 311 continues to give us amazing music after all these years says so much about their talent, creativity and love for their fans, and this album will only strengthen their legacy. The only bad thing I can say is that sometimes their lyrics are cheesy, and they tend to recycle riffs and lyrics more often than they should. It's crazy to think that I've been a fan for 24 years now! As far as Mosaic is concerned, it's their best album in years, and I'm really digging the guitar solos on Wildfire and Face in the Wind, which happen to be my favorite songs on the album. Extension and Syntax Error are also two standouts on the album. "Til the City's on Fire is a straight up pop song, and I really hate it, but yet this is the one song on the album that has been stuck in my head non-stop. Pop is evil! Wait, do I actually hate this song so much that I love it now!? It's still stuck in my head as a write this review, and I'm really annoyed right now. Bottom line is, if you were turned off by their last three albums, do yourself a favor and give Mosaic a chance. Even if you hate the lame Feldman written pop songs, there is plenty of classic 311 tunes on here.

Best 311 album since Transistor. 17 songs on this album. All of them could be radio hits. No other band is making music like 311 sryle of rock, raggae, rap. They took their time on this album and brought back their old producer Scott Ralston. He makes 311 sound awesome.

This album is definitely worth the money!

I never thought that these guys could get this great. I fell off after From Chaos and forgot about them until Streolithic came along. I loved that album and have been looking forward to this for a while now. Every song is great, and they sound progressive with today's times. It's sad to see that this album might get overlooked by many, but that's their loss. I'll be playing this album 1-17 all summer long.
P.S. Days of '88 feels like an ode to the days and times of my old neighborhood of Sun Valley in Omaha, NE where 311 started out. What a Trip!!!

Just buy it. This album is pure gold. Right at the top with some of their best work to date. Every song has it's own, unique sound only 311 can deliver. 311's versatility and diversity is unmatched and this album is no exception. I dig every track with "Til the City's on Fire" being the weakest but it's still ok. "Wildfire" just plain kicks ass and should have been the opening track to the album. Not easily my favorite track, but it is. I've been listening to 311 for over 20 years and Mosaic may very well be my favorite album they have produced and quite possibly the best music they have ever made...and they make fantastic music. Recommended at the highest level. Enjoy.

One of the best 311 albums I've gotten. Awesome reggae vibe on a lot of it but still some classic sound of the band. Great album!
