While I anticipated this to be a great Star Trek book, I had no idea how deeply personal it would be. Taylor not only presents a fascinating storyline, but also encourages the reader to look inward and take something away from the experience. That is often what sci-fi writers, particularly in film and tv forget. In tune with Gene Roddenberry's vision of humanity, Jeri Taylor perfectly captures what Star Trek was meant to be all about. I had high expectations for this book, knowing that Jeri Taylor was a writer for the show, but I am pleased to say that it well surpassed them.
