I honestly didn't think it would do much. I figured it might get dust fine, but that's about it. And a sprayer for water??? I had always heard to never use water on electronic device screens only special sprays or wipes or fairy dust. I was happy to find out otherwise.
I gave this little mitt a big challenge: my daughter's kindle fire. She's 7 and 7-year-olds are not known for being neat and tidy nor washing hands before handling such a fabulous little device or putting on special gloves with touch sensors on the fingers while working in a sterilized environment. Oh no! 7-year-olds must eat muffins or peanut butter or yogurt at the same time as sliding tiny messy fingers across touch screens to play "Perry the Platypus" or run "My Little Pony" around an imaginary kingdom.
I started by using the smudge (black) side of the mitt to get away the myriad of smears. It took a bit off, but not all. I took a deep breath and sprayed water from the "add water" bottle. It shot out a fine mist like an old-style perfume atomizer! I used the black side again and wiped across the screen.
EVERYTHING came off. The food smears and all the other gunk. It looked brand-new! Just like the day I carefully attached the screen protector film! So shiny!
So, of course, I ran rampant through the house, using the clothe and spray on numerous things: my laptop screen, my cell phone, the television, my Kindle Fire HD (duh), the dog....everything shone like the mid-day sun!Read more ›
My only con...I wish they sold a larger version of this that I could use on large screens like my TV.
In anycase, at Amazon prices...highly recommended...Apple Store's a bit overpriced.
- Cleaned the screen without removing the coating
- Looked brand new afterward
- Simply add water to the included mini spray bottle, moisten the glove and wipe.
- Easy and it worked.
- Same item as on Apple's website, little cheaper on Amazon.

Works better than anticipated to safely clean my unconscionably expensive MacBook screen.
Will work just as well when I go back to Windows.
