This makes IonGlass nearly impossible to scratch, even with a knife. Unlike a typical screen protector cut from flat sheets, IonGlass is a curved glass that is precision-molded to fit your iPhone's touchscreen perfectly. This process creates smooth, edge-to-ege protection with a micro-bevel around the Home button for fast and comfortable unlocking via Touch ID.
Top customer reviews
I usually don't write reviews or tend to believe either the over enthusiastic or the over acerbic, BUT I should have believed and heeded the negative reviews of this product.
I bought the screen protector on February 19th, 2017 FROM their website in Clear/White. I was willing to live with two persistent bubbles under the screen protector. Yesterday March 8th 2017, the screen cracked (enclosed picture) falling from a height of less than 24 inches on a carpeted floor. The Moshi website doesn't give you the option to post a review, nor have a customer service telephone listing, you have to email them. After several emails, they were willing to offer a discount for their Airfoil Glass model. The sad part for me is that I had a screen protector from another manufacturer (I'm not doing any product advertising or promotion) for about 4 months but got the Moshi because it was edge-to-edge.
According to a competitor product maker (Belkin) their protectors (installed by a mechanical device at the Apple store) are not edge to edge because the iPhone 7/7+ screens begin to curve before the edge, resulting in adhesion issues on full E2E protectors, and that's before you put on a hard case, which can exacerbate the problem. However, Moshi managed to curve this protector along the edges and home button cutout, so I don't see why any other curves as the edges are approached couldn't have been part of the manufacturing process. Maybe this is the root cause, maybe not.
Admittedly, except on certain smooth backgrounds (in videos), the trapped air isn't visible when the phone is actually in use, but they're very noticeable when the phone is locked. The nature of the iPhone itself, and probably most enthusiast users who would spend 40+ bucks on an SP, is such that visible flaws like these air pockets are simply unacceptable, and are an annoyance just knowing they're there. Perhaps in a year or so I won't care, but having just spent well over 1,000.00 on the phone and numerous apps/accessories, I want it close to perfect. With these edge adhesion issues, it's not.
If Moshi contacts me and responds with the offer of another protector so that I can give it another try, following any additional tips/tricks, I'll be more than happy to update this review if the replacement installs as it should have with zero bubbles because, otherwise, this product is everything you could ask for to protect that beautiful, huge plus sized HD screen.
