The DS game Moshi Monsters: Moshling zoo is a fun and addicting game especially for kids. There are three areas that you can go to in this game. Wooly wilderness, Moshling zoo, and the Monstro city are the three different areas that you can visit. In the Wooly Wilderness you can find 52 wacky and wild Moshlings. You will also be able to find hidden eggs all over the Wooly Wilderness. After you help each Moshling with each of their problems, they go to the Moshling zoo where you can care and love your new pets. There are different games you can play with each pets. You will also have to provide each of your new pets with food. At the Monstro city, you can shop at seven different stores. There are so many different types of items you can buy such as food, furniture, and random stuff. For me, this game was really confusing at first but after a while it gets really fun and cool.

In Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo, you are actually caring for the Moshi Monsters' pets who are called Moshlings. In Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo, you are the caretaker of the zoo. Your job is to adopt Moshlings and make the zoo the best zoo the world has ever seen.

To play Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo, you use the stylus to press an arrow left or right to move through each area of the game. Alternately, you can also use the directional key. As you scroll through each area of the game, you will use the stylus to tap on items you find to either collect points or add the item to your inventory. Travelling through the game, you will be told you need some of the items to accomplish something - like an iron to iron napkins or a paintbrush to paint a picture. You will also find things that some of the Moshlings want like a crown for Priscilla Pony. You'll be given hints throughout the game to help and there is a Monstropedia book with information about each of the Moshlings that can help give you ideas of how to get them to come with you.

Hints appear on the top screen along with how much money you have to spend, how many Moshlings you've collected and how many collections you've completed. You access your inventory on the bottom screen by tapping the backpack to open it.

As you give the Moshlings what they're looking for, you are told they would love to be added to your zoo. Once they are added to the zoo, you can visit them there and feed them, clean them up in the pool or play games with them. Each adult Moshling also has a baby Moshling that can be hatched from eggs you find in the game. You put the egg in the daycare and when it's ready, it hatches and you have more Moshlings in your zoo.

I got this game for my 3 kids after they had signed up for the moshi web site. Since receiving the games my kids have yet to put it down! A better alternative to paying for an online membership to the website.

A Kid's Review on March 2, 2012
I got this game for Christmas, thinking the moshlings were SO CUTE! I finished in a couple weeks, but i wasn't done with it yet. You can enter your moshlings in competions, play mini games with them, and of course make sure to take care of them. There are 52 moshlings to find, and scattered around are their eggs. When you find an egg, it goes to Buster's Baby Care. There is a nursery game you can play with the baby moshlings. There are 8 places you can look for moshlings, Whoop and Holler Valley, Marshmellow Mountains, Wobbly Woods, Dessert Desert, Potion Ocean, Taki Taki Islands, Kaleidoscope Canyons, and East Grumble. These places are in the Wooly Wilderness. In Monstro City, there are 7 shops you can go to to get stuff for your moshlings. At the Moshling Zoo, that's where your moshlings go after you adopt them. Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo is really fun, even when you complete the game.

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter for a Christmas gift. She opened it Christmas morning & played it till she went to bed. All day the joke was how she's off in her own world playing her new DS game. Only stopping to eat & play with cousins. She cannot stop telling me about it & is excited when she finds another Moshling.
As for delivery it came in a weeks time (very happy about that) & the price was the cheapest anywhere (very, very happy about that) & I couldn't find it in any store @ the time so I was very, very, very happy to get it from Amazon. Overall this was the best purchase experience!

Tons of little monsters running around that need the help of my child. You first help solve a problem, with only a few hints and then get to take them home into your own zoo. Once caught you get the eggs and babies and the game has a decent longevity and keeps my child's interest. There is a lot of problem solving and fun to be had at the same time.

Truthfully, this isn't a very good game.... it's a pet collecting sim basically where you can do some simple things, like wash your pets off, and view them in their zoo habitat. The goal is to find the most Moshilings, which are the Moshi Monsters' pets. There are eight different 'worlds' to look for the critters. The worlds are a static background that you scroll through...Very....very....slowly.... it crawls at the speed of snail. In the background will be gems you can touch with the stylus (the game's currency) and various items. Some you can pick up. Others you will have to use another item on to interact with to make a Moshling happy enough to grab. You have to offer them things in the order they want them. Say one needs a banjo string and some food. It has to be done in the right order or it won't work on the Moshling, which is pretty frustrating. Pop up text offers clues to what the animal wants or needs in order to be captured, there's also a book like a Pokedex, that offers information on the monsters and their preferences. Find the right combination, tap the moshling with your stylus, and he or she is yours!

There are no voice overs, besides some nonsense gibberish chattering. Everything useful is text... and LOTS of it! In order to get anywhere in this game, a child would need pretty advanced reading skills and also a concept of money to get the information and items needed for the moshlings. Even though the Moshi Monsters franchise appeals to smaller children, I'd say ages 6-7 with good reading skills would be the bare minimum as for as ages go. Unless you want to sit with your child and play the whole game together.
