Gyo Fujikawa (1908-1999) made a career in the advertising world and also enjoyed a lengthy stint at the Walt Disney Studios where she designed the large book version of Fantasia. In 1957, she illustrated her first picture book, A Child's Garden of Verses (9781402750625). Many others followed, some of which she also wrote. Babies (9781402756993), first published in 1963, stands as a landmark: it was the first children's book to depict infants of all races and nations sharing growing experiences. Fujikawa's books have been translated into 17 languages and are read in more than 22 countries.

A Must Have Book in Any Nursery

A Must Have Book in Any Nursery
My parents bought me this book when I was born (the green book in the picture), and I didn’t think that I would be able to find this same book for my baby, but I did! Mine is the 7th publication of the book, and there’s a big difference between my publication and my baby’s book (the purple one in the photo). In my book, there are nursery rhymes without pictures intermingled with nursery rhymes with illustrations. In the newer publication, all of the illustrated nursery rhymes are in the front of the book, and all of the nursery rhymes that didn’t have illustrations are at the back of the book. Get this book for your child. It’s an heirloom book to be passed down through the generations, if taken cared of properly.

1.0 out of 5 stars I was duped
Reviewed in Canada on October 9, 2022
I was duped. I paid for what I thought was the 130 page book. Only to receive a super tiny version with only 10 pages in it. I must have completely misread the writeup. Very disappointed. Was really looking forward to the 130 page version to use with my daughter as she is learning how to read.
