But I can not have a spoken conversation while my phone is in the holder, so it is useless.
Three people have complained they could not hear me properly (garbled, fading out, or not at all) and hung up - necessitating the removal of the phone from its case (not an easy task, and one that involves using a prying tool). And this is with the volume on full and me at my desk in Atlanta.
And its not my new phone. Once removed from the case, it works perfectly.
If someone has a remedy for this I'd love to hear it.
UPDATE: I have used this case 8 months and it is beginning to fall apart. The case itself, the black part, is cracked in the back. The border of the case is flimsy and has broken almost completely off on the right side and bottom. My phone can hardly stay in it now. On the o outside part of the case, I left it out for a couple hours in the heat and part of the brown started peeling. It was a good case while out lasted; but if you are looking for one that'll last for at least a year, I would recommend looking for something different.
It's very cheaply made. It doesn't even fold like in the picture, to where I could prop my phone up. The case that holds the phone is fully glued to the wallet itself, not allowing me to fold it without breaking it. Again. I guess I got what I paid for.
The functionality is certainly as shown, the "kickstand" feature holds the phone at a very comfortable angle for full screen video watching. The cover poses a bit of an issue for taking photos or video in the vertical position, but is manageable. I did not make a call with the cover in place but from the position of the mic cutout I could see an issue with call recipients having trouble hearing you speak (the phone cradle appears to be hot glued to the cover, and the glue is perilously close to covering the mic cutout). The magnetic closure engages only when the cover is folded behind the phone, it does not hold the cover closed when folded over the front of the phone.
I certainly understand the economics of phone cases, particularly for budget phone models like the Moto E LTE. No one is going to pay premium leather prices to cover a $100 phone, but its not hard to imagine you could increase the quality of materials here and still appeal to budget phone users.
I will say that it is an attractive case (I got it in plain black) and that it fits the Moto E (2nd gen.) well. If only the closure mechanism was what's stated in the product information and not a hidden (and undisclosed) magnet, I would keep it.
