I purchased this product along with the new "Kindle" (the new smallest $79 version) because I've liked Built products in the past (great digital camera cases). Everything but the lining of this envelope-shaped case is made of tough, thick, neoprene-like material. It repels water and will certainly hold-up to normal transport and wear and tear. The case is held closed by industrial grade velcro tabs on each corner of the envelope's flap. The velcro is strong enough that this is not going to pop open. Once you open the top flap, there is a zippered, flat pocket on the front of the main "pocket" part of the envelope. It spans the entire width of the envelope and perfectly fits the USB charger cord that comes with any of the Kindles. Note: You would not be able to fit anything bulky in this pocket, like a clip-on light or USB electrical outlet adapter.
The lining is made of a very plush and soft, synthetic material that feels like a luxe throw blanket. It adds a little extra cushioning to this product and will absolutely never scratch the screen of your kindle. Also, the product is fairly light weight and doesn't add unwanted bulk and weight to traveling with your Kindle.
Even with buying the smaller Kindle, this envelope is a secure fit and the Kindle does not move around in the case, and it certainly will not fall out. I can tell that the Touch would also fit, but this evelope would be more of a sleeve-type fit for the slightly bigger Touch.
I would definitely recommend this as a great case for the Kindle or Touch.
UPDATE: I now own the Kindle Touch (which is fabulous) and this case does work fantastically. As I suspected, this case is a very true fit, like a sleeve, when used with the Touch. But you don't have to struggle to slide the Touch into the case.

I purchased this Envelope because I was tiring of repurchasing different sleeves and covers every time I got a new Ereader or upgraded. I had the Built Open Sleeve for my old K3, which I liked, but it's considerably too large for the new Kindle. It fits, but without a closure and snug grip, the ereader is liable to fall out if it's accidently turned upside down or sideways.

I've also previously purchased the Timbuk2 nylon envelope for a older version Kindle (K2), but I disliked its stiff bulkiness.

This Envelope gets 3 1/2 stars for the following reasons:

Pro: The shell is very well padded and secure, and the interior is plush and soft, with no chance for scratches. Also, it smells fine. I've never received anything from Built that had a smelly Neoprene stench.

Note/Observation: For those that are curious, no the K3 (Kindle Keyboard) does not fit into this envelope. It's a little over 1/2" too long. I have a feeling the new Timbuk2 envelope for K4/Touch might, since they usually run big. But just to be clear, this was not a concern of mine.

Cons: The shell is already well padded, just like their other Open Sleeves, but the flap closure is just as padded and creates added bulkiness, that really isn't necessary IMO. I also really don't understand the side zipper pocket. I personally will never use it, unless I'm traveling for an extended period of time. There is also a bit of clunkiness in regards to it in the closed state. It does not exactly lay flat and flush (puffs out on the front top sides).

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed, especially for $30. I already have other sleeves that sort of work, so I don't need another I don't really care for. I'm returning this one and trying out the new Timbuk2 soft envelope.

So I purchased this, and THEN read the reviews, which made me a little apprehensive about my purchase. Someone said there were fake reviews for this product. Not sure how they can tell.

I got this as a gift for my daughter who like techy things. Yesterday, the goggles arrived at my office. I decided to try them out with my Samsung 6. If they weren't that great, I was going to return them for a refund. To my surprise, they were fantastic!!! I mean, yes, there are better, more expensive vr goggles out there, but for the price, this one works just great! The head straps are comfortable, and the seal was good; couldn't see any light. I downloaded some free VR apps on my phone, and I can't put this thing down! Everyone around me in the office is trying it out. I doubt it is going to make it under the tree because I want to play with it here at work.

Only con so far: it's a little hard to get open the compartment to get my phone in and out, but other than that, I think I got way more than I paid for. :)

My last cover for my K2 was a really nice pale pink leather case. I really liked it. But this one serves my purpose much better as I like to read my Kindle naked. This case is very well made, and lightweight. I love that I can just slip my Baby Kindle inside, close it with the velcro closing and know that it is safe and sound. It also has a zippered pouch just under the flap that will fit the charging cord. I cannot imagine a better case....thank you BUILT.

I have mixed emotions about this case, and here's why:

It's very well padded, and with the screen taking up so much of the "real estate" on the Touch, I think the extra padding under the flap IS necessary.

What really surprised me is that this case makes the Kindle Touch feel very heavy. I have a Timbuk2 memory foam envelope for my Kindle Keyboard which works fine for the Touch (though there is extra room.) The Touch feels considerably lighter in the Timbuk2 envelope, and the protection is superior. (I checked out the Timbuk2 envelope which is designed for the Touch, and it is so slightly smaller that I decided it wasn't worth the expense, since the Touch works fine in my older one.) The BUILT case really does weigh 4oz, so you are increasing the weight of the Touch by more than 50%, and given the compact size of both the device and the case, it is concentrated weight. This case will almost double the weight of the Kindle4.

The other thing I really don't care for is that when opening this envelope, you really have to pull on the velcro, and at that spot the material is thin. I'd be surprised if the sleeve doesn't become misshapen at that point, and if the velcro will hold up for any length of time.

Be aware that the look of this case will depend on how the fabric is cut: mine is cute, but most of it is solid blue with dark gray dots. The photo is much brighter and "spunkier" looking.

A couple of positive notes: The case offers good protection. I had no problem getting both my charging cord and outlet charger into the pocket, but I'd never do it: I'd be afraid that any pressure on the charger would crack the Kindle screen.
